BWV Standard View - is it really possible?

We always want to go the first or second week of December. I realize this is a high volume time for the Epcot resorts.

If we bought into DVC, we'd buy a Boardwalk Villas resale, so BWV would be our home resort.

We'd want to stay in a one bedroom villa, most of the time.

If we call at 11 months out from our dates, what are our chances of regularly getting a reservation for one of the Standard View, lower-point-cost, units?

I just called today for a standard view studio for 11/8/07 - 11/12/07 (I called late this afternoon, not early in the day). This is the last weekend of Food & Wine, Jersey Week, Super Soap Weekend and Festival of the Masters. Had no problem getting the standard view studio.

I have no problem booking BW view (I don't own BW) one bedroom 7 months, 3 months and 1 month. I don't think you can count on that every year. If you buy in to BWV and call on the 11 month from your depature date, I think you would have a 99% chance of getting what you want all the time.

I booked a 1 bedroom standard view 3 or 4 times for the first week of December by calling day by day at 11 months.

That was the main reason I bought BWV vs OKW (the only 2 for sale in 1999), I wanted the 11 month window at BWV for the beginning of December.

We own at BWV and I have always gotten the standard view if I call at the 11 month mark. This even includes Christmas week. Last year I didn't call until around the 10 month mark, and the standard as well as boardwalk views were taken. We ended up with a first floor pool view room, which I was disappointed with at first, but it turned out to be our favorite room yet!

My first add will be there but it won't be for the standard view it will be for the BOARDWALK VIEW!! :thumbsup2

I'd say very good - especially if you call day by day and/or are willing to use the waitlist. They go down sigificantly as you move away from eleven months. It is a popular choice with owners at a popular time, so you don't want to procrastinate.

We bought at Boardwalk so we could stay there over NYE. I call day-by-day at the start of the 11 month window and I have never had a problem getting either a Standard View or a Boardwalk View.

My guide had told me when I bought (1999) that requests were fullfilled by date of reservation and I would have an excellent chance to get BW view by booking preferred at 11 months. My first trip came and we had a quiet pool view, no BW available. After that, I did not want to waste points, so I booked standard view. Once the BW view became a guarantee, I have booked it everytime.
