BWV & Segway Tour Transport

I just booked an Around the World Segway Tour for my husband's birthday. We will be staying at BWV for the first time and was wondering what the best way would be for my husband to get to his tour on time. I booked an 8:30 tour and the CM told me he would not be able to go through the boat entrance from Epcot as the World showcase does not open until 11. If this is true then the rest of my family and I would have to find an alternate route as well to get to FW early too?

You can definitely get into Epcot via the IG entrance before WS opens. Maybe the CM meant that the boats to IG don't run that time of morning?

We did the Segway tour last year at Epcot and were able to get into the park through the international gateway entrance before opening time. The security on the gate had a list of people booked onto the tour. Although our names were not for some reason on the list we asked him to radio through to check and were then allowed through. The tour was great by the way and we are doing it again later this year.

They will let the tour people in through IG before WS opens, specifically for the tour. Have fun!!!

Walk to the IG. The IG opens at the same time the park does - but CMs will man the gate earlier with a list of people with reservations pre-park opening -like the Segway tour or the Storybook Princess breakfast. They PROBABLY will only let him in for his 8:30 - you'll be stuck at the gate until 9:00 am when Future World opens. But several years ago my daughter and I had a breakfast and needed to get in about 20 minutes before opening - and the CM let my son and husband in as well although they weren't on the breakfast invite. I don't know if she didn't check, didn't care, or was being nice. They were first in line for Mission:Space.

The CM was not correct. My DH & I have done that tour. We entered through the International Gateway (boat entrance). FWIW, it opens at the same time as the main entrance. You and the rest of your family can enter EPCOT there at opening. You'll just walk through a portion of World Showcase to get to Future World. This is the entrance to EPCOT that all of those staying at the EPCOT resorts routinely use.

Be sure your DH allows enough time to walk to the tour meeting area. If he is supposed to be at the meeting place by 8:30, he'll need to be at the IG turnstiles no later than 8:10 or so. Even though the IG will not officially be open until 9, there will be CMs there. Your DH should just tell them that he has the Segway tour booked. They will scan his park admission ticket, & let him in (be sure he has the confirmation nunber. Normally the CMs at the entrances have a list, though). Then your DH can walk past England and Canada to the path to Future World and on to the meeting place.

We loved the tour - hope he does too.

We had the same situation in March...The Segway tour was scheduled before any of Epcot was open. We were staying at the Boardwalk. Had called ahead to make sure there wouldn't be a problem entering at the International Gateway. Still had to wait for security to be called to open the gate. You can do it, but leave plenty early to make sure if you run into problems that you have plenty of time to get to your tour. Hope this helped.
