We are going to be staying at the Boardwalk Villas and also the Sarasota Villas in August.

I have never done this before, but I understand that you can fax room requests over to the specific resort and hope for the best. Does anyone have any suggestions on specific rooms that you would recommend that we request to stay in.

Is there one main fax number to do this (if it is still possible) or does each resort have a dedicated number?

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Rumor has it that a lot of the resorts are no longer reading these faxes. If there is a special view or area of a resort you would like, you should have it listed on your reservation. When the reservation is made is the best time to put in any requests. But, keep in mind, these are only 'requests'. It is a really bad idea to ask for a particular room also. You have very little chance of getting a particular room. When is comes to assigning you your room, the room assignor won't have any idea of what is important to you...other than a particular room number (which he can't give you because someone is already in it!) So, you could put your request this way...
I would love a studio (or whatever size) at BWV that is non-smoking and close to the elevators. A higher level would be really terrific.

With BWV you have 3 different type views...standard, water/garden preferred, and Boardwalk view. Not sure what the views are like at Saratoga Springs. My favorite views at BWV are of the Village Green (preferred garden/water) and of the canal to MGM, overlooking the quiet pool and Community Hall (again, preferred garden/water).

Both the BWV and SSR are DVC (Disney Vacation Club) resorts. Neither will pay any attention to faxes - DVC members have received several notices to this effect.

If you booked through CRO, call and have your request added to the reservation.

If you are a DVC ember, call MS (Member Services) and get your requests added to the reservation. If you are renting points from a member, ask the member to call MS and have your request added to the reservation.

Those are the only ways to get requests considered ahead of time.

Most DVC resorts are using "room ready" (BWV usually pre-assigns in my experience, though). That means you should repeat your requests at check in. If the resort is using room ready, the CM will first offer you a room that is already cleaned and ready for occupancy (if there is one).

HTH.

Best wishes-

For SSR if you want to use the main pool with the slide and the walk way to DTD - request to be close to the main pool or Check-in (Carriage House). Otherwise it's a hike (or you can ride the bus).

This is all good information.
I will give the CRO a call and have or requests added to our reservations.
