bwv ressies at 7 months???

I was wondering if anyone was successful in getting a BWV ressie at 7 months out for the month of August? We are thinking about making a ressie for mid August 2009 but we must wait until January because our home resort is SSR. Our goal is to get into a 2BR standard view.

Any comments are greatly appreciated.

You may have to waitlist for a standard view but you should be able to get a pool/garden.

I agree, you should be able to get a PV easily for August. Getting a standard room would just be lucky. I'm a BWV owner and just recently tried to get a standard room for May before the 7 month window openned for all, but not exactly at the 11 month window and out of my 12 days only 3 were available, so there were no standard rooms open for early may before the 7 month window began. May is fairly an easy time to book as August is too (just not Labor Day Weekend). Good luck and let us know how you did. But you better have a back up plan.

You know, I've been waitlisted 3 years now for BWV (2 bedroom) and have yet had it come through! I swear I'm the exception reading everyone else's posts. My home resort is BCV but just wanted a change. This is for the first week in December-I try on the 7 month mark and have never had any luck!
I'm living proof on the old addage everyone says about buy where you want to stay!

December is tough. I generally use my 11 month window and book at one of my homes. I bought BWV points just to use in October and December. The others times of the year I use my SSR points and book whatever is available at the 7 month window.

We booked yesterday at the 7 month window for May 2009. We got a Garden/pool view Hope you get yours when the 7 month window opens.

Thanks everyone for the information. We do have a back-up plan, which is a stay at our home resort of SSR. Due to the members in our party, the BWV location suits us better. Please keep the comments coming, especially from those who had success/no luck with a 7 month ressie in August.

That is probably one of the most popular weeks of the year. I specifically bought BWV to get that week at 11 months.

I was able to get a SV 2 bedroom at BWV during the last 2 weeks in August a few years back. We originally had booked 2 studios, but then we did an add on, so around March we went on a waitlist, and it did come through. I hope you get what you want.

I didn't go in August, but I did stay at BWV in May 2006. We only called 4 months in advance. There was no availability but we asked to be put on a waiting list. We asked for standard view and the person told us that we would have better luck with a preferred view. We did the waiting list for both and our preferred view studio came through about 2 weeks later. We ended up being on the Boardwalk and it was awesome!

I would definitely say that you would have more luck with a preferred than a standard. And you probably have a better chance with a 2 bedroom since studios and 1 bedrooms are more popular.

I would say to call as soon as you can, get on a waiting list if anything, and book at SSR as a backup....good luck!

this next trip in april makes our 3rd year in a row at BWV standard view 1-bdr at 7-month window..haven't even had to wait list all trips have/will be during school vacation weeks...must be living right

I was going to buy a resale at either BCV or BWV. I am rethinking it all and this is why. I tried to rent points this year and had no luck for a one bedroom availability various times of the year. Anyway the point is i was Pm'ing with some of the people renting who owned at BWV to ask them if they have seen more difficulty in booking than when they bought their memberships. Most of these people had bought in many years ago. The answer from all of them was yes the 7 month window is now much harder than in the past. and some said they have no luck at all. So they all just book at 11 months out and pray they don't have to change their plans. or you can be flexible at the 7 month window and get into another larger complex. The point is things now are very difficult especially if you want BW standard view. Food and wine really does not allow most people to get in at 7 month window or less. It's all a crapshoot and how many days you need. obviously if you need a lot of days it will be harder vs people who need may 2 or 3. i am going down in Dec. to look over BLT models and possibly just buy into there. i love the MK anyway. Some of these people told me that they had problems not just at Food and Wine time by the way. Other times too as most DVC'ers are going when points are lower so everyone competing with each other for spots.

We have been able to do it twice now. We were not trying for a standard view, though. We prefer the BW view.

Keep in mind the OP is looking for a standard 2 bedroom which is more difficult to get. Out of the standard view rooms, the 1 bedroom is the easier one to get. Studio is hard too. We actually got my daughter a 1 bedroom standard view last May (the first week) with one call, no waitlist. As for the preferred view, the OP should not have any problem getting a 2 bedroom at the 7 month window for August.

I don't know about August, but i was able to get a 2 bdr SV at 7 mos for this past June. Actually it was about 6 1/2 months out because I figured the window incorrectly.

Hi! I currently have a one bedroom standard view booked for 6 nights in August 09 (16th-21st) and will be trying to swap this over for Beach Club or Animal Kingdom in January.....................so I know this one will be available! I know you wanted a 2 bed thoughh! What is your home resort?
