BWV Renovations until Summer 2005?

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I just noticed the following on the members website:

Maintenance Alert: Disney's BoardWalk Resort


To ensure facilities are maintained to Disney quality standards, portions of Disney's BoardWalk Resort will be undergoing building maintenance, which will extend to limited areas of Disney's BoardWalk Villas. Engineering Services Cast Members will be replacing sections of the porte cochere roof during March and segments of the piping system through summer 2005. Work on the piping system will take place in the guest room building corridors and surrounding areas daily during the hours of 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. No work is planned to take place in Guest rooms. Please contact Member Services at 800-800-9800 for more information.


For some reason, I thought it was to end summer 2004, not 2005. Anyone have any idea what effect this will have, if any, on the BW view rooms?

I believe this message has been changed. Guess the work is going to take longer than they thought? I thought it originally said through the end of July THIS YEAR. Yikes...

I have seen some holes cut in the ceiling this week (in second floor hallway). I must say I am disappointed with all these renovations. While sitting by the pool I noticed the shingles should be replaced.

When we were there 2 weeks ago the bellhop told us that about the time they finish one major project, it's time to start another.

So does BWV seem to have to under go renovations more often than the others? Was the construction faulty?

I hope it is not a mess when we go in June. I had decided to keep the ressie since we got a BW view and I was excited about that.

That is a change. I wonder if they really meant "2005" or it was another of the recent typos. I found my original post from February where I posted the quote from the member site. Here it is for comparison:

I think "2005" is a typo. The March Clubhouse mentions July 2004, not 2005.
