At my first stay here at BWV. I'm confused on the parking situation. I guess I'm spoiled at my home resorts at parking be near to my room. Are the only self parks just to the left and right of the check in building? What's up with the parts of the lot that have posts stopping me from parking in that area? I probably should have had bell. Services take my luggage to my room instead of making the march in 93 degree heat yesterday. Thought me and the groceries were going to melt :)

The other lot is across the street, even farther! That's one big drawback with BWV. The lot on the right as you come in usually has the driveway entrance blocked, you have to go around to the side to enter. They sometimes have a guard there checking for room keys. It was nice when valet parking was free....:(

Your best bet is to drop luggage and groceries off at the lobby entrance and have bell services take them or if you have others in your party let them wait with them while you park the car.

The lot that is blocked off with the posts is used by valet parking. It's definitely nice to either have someone with you to drop off with your luggage at the front or else to use bell service.

The lot on the right with the entrance blocked is guest parking, valet is on the left as you enter the resort. For the past couple years, they have blocked the main driveway entrance to the guest lot and entry is only through the side entrance by the convention center. During busy times, they have a guard at the side entrance. Non-hotel guests are then forced across the street.

I was referring to the lot to the left when you enter. The part closest to the building is blocked off and is for valet. To the right you have to drive around as you mentioned but you can enter it at most times.

I don't think there are posts blocking the valet on the driveway. If you go to the end of the lot on the left there is handicapped parking. Within there, they have gates blocking the valet spaces. I think the OP is referring to the posts for the guest lot, they made the comment about the lot being twice as big.

it actually isn't that long a walk (see my signature;)). as you go thru the guard booth, pass the resort guest lot (with poles at the 1st entrance) on your right. turn at the right before you reach the traffic circle/lobby. on your right is the entrance to the resort guest lot. if you park close to that entrance, you can just use the walkway by the business ctr, and busstop. (note that the "arms" at nearby street entrance will not open for resort or other guests).
if you park at the side where the 1st, blocked entrance is, just walk along the bridge walkway to the lobby.
as others said, you can drop someone with the groceries at the traffic circle/lobby entrance, and park the car - we normally don't bother (we both enjoy the walk too much:goodvibes). they have gotten much more restrictive with BW parking (thank goodness!) as non-resort guests would park in that lot, leaving no spots for the resort guests. the many things we love about the BW also appeal to many who are not actually staying there. aside from those looking to avoid parking fees, the BW offers free nighttime performers, restaurants, jellyrolls, carny games, etc that ppl want to see/do. no other WDW resort offers as much, hence, the influx of non-resort guests not seen elsewhere.
btw, we very much prefer the short walk to seeing (and smelling:guilty:) cars from our villa. for us, it feels more like we are at a resort rather than a hotel somewhere :)

Hope that they are starting to check for the parking at the BW. We have yet to see that happen, not saying it hasn't, but this year we are arriving 9-29 the first weekend of the F&WF and would like to be able to park in one of the forward lots. :thumbsup2

they have been especially restrictive about non-BW resort guests using the lots during F&WF.
there was a lot of "but we are DVC owners!!!" arguements at the guard shack in sept/oct (we heard the guards explaining multiple times that it doesn't matter, only BWI/BWV resort guests can park there). resort IDs as well as driver's licenses are checked, and then rechecked by a second guard at the lot entrance around the corner (the entrance is manned/womanned ;) mostly at night, and all weekend during the F&WF and other busy times).
btw, parking in the resort guest lot might be more limited if there is a convention at the BW - we've never seen it totally full, but we have had to park a bit further a very few times.
the additional security really has made a HUGE difference! :woohoo:
