I was hoping for some further clarification. Are the preferred views BW, pool, Village, or a combination of all of them. If so, what actually constitutes it being "preferred".
Only Disney knows.
Here is how I look at it, as a BWV owner:
If I want cheap points, I book standard view - I'm ALMOST CERTAINLY going to be looking at the drive, but the points are a bargain. But, if I call late, I may not get it.
If I want a view, I book Boardwalk View - I'm CERTAINLY going to be looking at the lake and the Y&BC. But, if I call late I may not get it. I'm not even a big BW View fan (a lot of people think its the best view at Disney - I'm reminded of the way they ruined Spaceship Earth) - but if its available, I take it, I know what I'll be looking at and won't be disappointed.
If I call and neither BW View or Standard View is available - I book preferred view. Its luck of the draw what I'll be looking at - but that is the same deal as any other
DVC resort - sometimes you get a great view, and sometimes you are looking at a road. Preferred views at BWV are the same number of points as the dumpster view at VWL or the road view at BCVs.
I suspect a lot of BW owners are like me, we take the preferred views only if the other views are not available.
