BWV-Pool usage in November/activities for kids/Epcot access????

We are going to Disney during week of Thanksgiving. Does anyone use the pools at this time? We are stayinf at BWV would like to spend a day enjoying the resort and not going to the parks. Is there plenty activities for kids? Also- how long is the walk to Epcot? We are considering going to epcot Thanksgiving day and eating somewhere in the countries. I hear the parks are overcrowded this day, anyone been during Thanksgiving. Also-when do Christmas decorations go up?

BWV has a community hall for the kids to use and the pool should be heated but who knows.
We own there and its great. Rental bikes on the BW, plenty of places to eat. Check out the S/D.
BW at night has entertainment on the BW
Try beaches and cream at BC
If you want to eat in Epcot you better make ressies early for that time of year.

Need more to do, try visiting other resorts like WL with a boat ride over from MK. Or the GF, Poly, Cont by monorail, the kids will love it.

Walk to Epcot IG 10/20 mins or MGM depending where your room is. (more or less)

Also- how long is the walk to Epcot?

According to Caskbill (who used a GPS receiver to measure the distance) it is .36 mile from the bottom of the steps below the lobby area of the Boardwalk to the ticket booth at the IG: http://disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40634

The temperature can really vary. We spent a little time in the pool in early/mid-November last year.

We're not really planning on it for our early December trip this year, but we'll pack suits in case we can swim after all!
