We have stayed at BWV before. We owned there until recently. We have never stayed at SSR. I touched on this in another thread, but I am wondering which would be better for a 1 night stay? We are coming in for a MM event at MK only for one night. I have a BWV boardwalk view studio currently booked. The SV studio at SSR keeps coming up as available every few days. SSR is 14 points and BWV is 18 points for the BW view. It is important to note that we will only be there for one night, and we will be at MM until late that evening. We aren't going to any parks other than MK for the MM event which is why I am waffling on BWV since we aren't going to EP. For those who have stayed in both, which room would you pick under these circumstances?

Getting to/from MK from BWV is always a crap show. I'd switch to SSR. In fact, we booked a trip to see Survivor at F&G (June 1) about a month or so back and I could get BWV but chose SSR. Kind of tired of the issues we keep getting at BWV. Specifically the dirty worn out rooms an terrible housekeeping. Looking forward to a renovated room at SSR. We booked the prefer view and requested Congress Park. Maybe you could do preferred view at SSR???

For one night I would take the less points, especially if you’re doing the MM event. Figure you won’t be in the room much and when you will be, you’ll be sleeping.

Since you've never stayed there I'd choose SSR. I would then probably waitlist a few options at either BLT/Poly/WL/GF for a quicker commute back to the resort once I leave MK.

Thanks for the response. We sold BWV because we didn't love the resort despite loving the walk to EP. My knee jerk reaction was to grab the studio at BWV as soon as it popped up, but now I am wondering if I should go back to SSR because we won't even be there very much, AND we aren't even going to EP or HS this trip.

Thanks. I am starting to think this as well.

Thank you for the response. I thought about those, but we stay in them all the time, and they are a lot more points for the single night. I had no idea that April was so point heavy as we have never traveled then. I am thinking no matter where we stay, we will bus over to MK and take an Uber back to whichever resort we are staying in. I just have no patience for those buses at park closing time.

I think I would go for SSR also for the one night. I’m not sure how the bus stops work there, but you already know the bus situation at BWV. And if you Uber back, it will be a short walk to your room. With a boardwalk view you could be all the way down by Jellyrolls! SSR is very spread out and confusing if you haven’t been there. But the parking, in my opinion, is very convenient. Unless you are taking Magical Express? You will really enjoy the MK event.

What time are you arriving, and what time can you go to MK? Also - how much time will you have in the AM before heading out?
To me a 4 point difference is nothing - it's $76 if you're using one-time use points.

So, if you're only using the room to sleep and literally nothing else, then location matters less. But I love the Boardwalk in the early morning, and if you are hanging out at all before going to MK, it's a nice place to sit outside and relax too, to grab a quick lunch, etc.

We get in to MCO at 2pm on Tuesday and fly out at 10:45am the next morning. We’ll have been gone from home almost exactly 24 hours.

I'm biased towards SSR (its my favorite resort). I know you said you are only staying for one night, but if you had free time on your arrival or departure day, Disney Springs is just a quick walk/bus, or boat ride away to grab a quick lunch or do some shopping.

Well, I gave up the BWV reservation for an SSR reservation. Thanks everyone for all the opinions. :)
I own at SSR if you are staying in a standard room request Grandstand. It is the first bus stop to be picked up and the first one to be dropped off on the return from the park

SSR is low on my list for a vacation, however for your situation you made the right choice so enjoy!!

Edit: we sold our SSR too
