What are the chances of being able to book either a 2 bedroom or a 1 bedroom AND a studio, standard view, for a week in January 2013 at either BWV or BCV. We own at SSR so we have to wait until the 7 month window which is coming up soon. We would be looking at just about any week in January, preferably not the week of MLK day just because of higher crowds.

Anyone feel like checking current availability?

I'd avoid marathon weekend, but even then, people sometimes exaggerate the difficulty of getting a room at 7 months, or focus solely on one room type (BLT MKV, Boardwalk standard) and assume all others are that way.

I'd say your chances are good, and increase more if you are flexible outside of just th two Epcot resorts. That being said, even at Christmas this ear, I was able to book at one f my top 4 choices (VWL) and could have mostly gotten in at two of the others if I was fine with wait listing one of he days.

I own at SSR, go during some busy times and never have an issue getting into one of my top choices. Just don't sleep on it, and if you are really concerned, walk your reservation.

I've had no problem getting BCV or BWV(BW view) for MLK weekend at the 7 month window.

I'll be at BWV January 26-Feb. 2 and I had been periodically checking availability throughout the month of January and practically everything is open for much of the month (MLK and Marathon weekends excluded), especially later in the month.

Good luck, I hope you get what you're looking for and maybe I'll see you on the Boardwalk while you're there. :goodvibes

I am confident we will find rooms somewhere, just hoping for the Epcot resort area. If not we can always go back to trusty SSR

Sorry if I wasn't clear, I meant practically everything at BWV was available during the month.

I know that the standard studio is already booked up for some dates. We are thinking of extending and would have to go on the waitlist (MLK weekend plus Tuesday).

The Moderators have asked that we do not ask others to check availability, there is really is no reason to as it can change so quickly.

I would think if you book as soon as you can you will be ok.

I read that there is no point in walking the reservation at the 7 month window because people that own at that resort can still come in a book up rooms before the 7 month window hits, therefore negating the intended result of walking the reservation, which is blocking the room and guaranteeing you get it.

true?

Walking at 7 months undoubtedly has significantly less chance of providing an advantage of getting what you want because of the fact that owners can still take away, or may already have taken away, the days you want at the end of the walking period. Thus, walking at 7 months may not succeed in getting your desired reservation. However, I would not conclude it provides zero advantage. You will at least be gaining some advantage over those who will be trying at 7 months out for the same dates as part of the beginning of their stay but are not walking.
