Has anyone ever stayed at Board Walk Villas? We have never stayed at the Board Walk and are not sure if we should move forward with staying there. We had planned on staying in two rooms at a moderate and are considering renting points to stay at the Board Walk Villas.

Please, could someone share with me what the difference between our favorite mod, POFQ and BWV will be? The rooms we would rent at both would be standard view and at BWV would be studios.

Thanks!

I have stayed at the BWV several times and it is great. We stayed in a studio once and even ended up with a Boardwalk view. We liked having the microwave (and the refrigerator, since this was before they were providing fridges in rooms). It was just my husband and I, so it was plenty of room (the room appears a bit bigger than your standard hotel room because there aren't two beds - there is a bed and a sleep sofa). The BWV location can't be beat - you can walk (or take the boat) to EPCOT and MGM and you have lots of restaurants and fun things to do right in the area.

I have never stayed at POFQ, though, so I can't compare it.

We have stayed in both and loved them for different reasons, pofq felt very southern and we loved the river and building styles, but boardwalk has everything you need to hand, shops , restaurants etc and a wonderful boardwalk to wander around in the evenings, walking distance to epcot and beautiful, why not try a split stay and stay in each resort so that you know for next time what you prefer.

I have stayed at and enjoy both resorts, but for luxury and location would certainly take BWV.
You note that you would like to get Standard View, which in my opinion is great (mainly landscaping, with peeks of parking lot), but the low points Standard Views can be hard to come by.

Being a BWV owner now, I will offer a little friendly advice on renting points at BWV. First of all, if you want Std View at any sort of popular time, you will need to get it reserved 10-11 months in advance. Popular times are of course Xmas-New Years, mid-February thru late April (spring break) and October-November (Food & Wine fest and Thxgiving). In general the Std Views go quickly, so the earlier you reserve, the better.

As for the rooms, you note that you are deciding between two rooms at POFQ and BWV studios. Note that there are no connecting studios at BWV or any of the DVC resorts. If you want room for a larger party, you will want to look into a 2BR unit. Tho these are a bit more in terms of price, they offer many advantages over 2 Mod rooms. My favorite advantage would be the full kitchen and the in unit laundry facilities, which save you money on breakfast and snacks and allows you to pack lighter since you can just throw stuff in the wash in the evening. This is a huge advantage IMO. There is also the jacuzzi tub off the master bedroom, the king bed in the master, and the separate shower and toilet area in the master bath. The main disadvantages are that it'll cost more and that you won't get daily Mousekeeping the way you do in the Mods.

Now as for the pools, I think POFQ wins on that count; while the clown pool (Luna Park) at BWV is great, the dragon pool at POFQ is cooler. But paladin is right on when he notes that the BW location cannot be beat.

Just some things for you to think about when making your plans. Either choice will be a great vacation. Have fun!
