I just booked a one bedroom standard view at BWV for May. I'm going back and forth about keeping this reservation or switching to old faithful OKW. Hubby and I stayed at BWV once about 6 years ago in a prefered view studio. I remember it being quite noisy at night. I've read things about standard views having long hallways or being noisy due to the outside car/bus noise. Help me decide if BWV is right for me. We will be traveling with my 4 year old so long hallways isn't a good thing for us especially when we are tired from the parks.

Not noisy at all if you are in a standard room. We were in a studio standard this past August room 4097 which was perfect. Yes it was facing the front but directly across from us was the staircase going down to the main pool also not too far from the elevators so I would just request being close to the elevators if at all possible. If you do happen to get 1 of the rooms at the end of the hall and a higher floor then yes it would be a little bit of a problem I would say go for it though. BWV is a great resort in the perfect location.

Some have reported that there are noisy standard view rooms at BWV just above where the luggage is loaded/unloaded for DME (I haven't stayed in one of these rooms myself but it has been reported by a few other people). However, I think it is possible to get a noisy room in almost any resort, including OKW. Last March we had a 1 bedroom near the bridge at OKW and I could not enjoy the balcony at all because of noise. Room assignment is somewhat of a luck thing. Over the course of a membership I expect that we will sometimes get a less desirable location and that is only fair because someone has to have those rooms. If it is something that is not tolerable, we will pay to move when another room is available. If I ever feel that we are consistently getting very poor room assignments then I will politely speak to someone. So far that hasn't been necessary.
Good luck with your decision. We love both BWV and OKW.

Request top floor, across from the bus stop. That way you will be away from the noise (subject to availability of course). I've always requested that with standard view and was always happy.

I am BWV owner. As a city dweller, I hardly ever notice any noise when there. However, if you are sensitive to it you face a risk of noise if your room is near the main entry-way where valet service is since there is continuous loading and unloading of cars and busses and in morning you can get some luggage delivery rack-like noises. Unfortunately, if walking is also an issue, those are the rooms that are close to the elevator and save your from walking any distance down the hall. To those who have never stayed at Kidani the walk can seem long if you are far down the hall where is it is quieter (I also own at AKV and the longest walk at Kidani is about 4 times the longest walk at BWV so BWV is really nothing to someone who has stayed in Kidani).

The noisiest villa we ever had was at OKW in building 14. It was right by the bridge to the entrance/exit, and there was constant bus noise, day and night. It was so loud that we could hear it inside the villa with all the doors and windows shut.

We have stayed at BWV 6 times so far, and never had a villa that was too noisy. BWV does have alot of activity, but we always request away from the elevator, top floor, and have been satisfied with our villas. We have only stayed in a standard view villa once, and we were on the end by Hollywood Studios. The long walks don't bother us, so I think we end up with quieter villas.

We have stayed in both places and experienced excessive noise. It is just the luck of the draw with room assignments. However, we still love them both. Make your room requests and cross your fingers. :goodvibes
