BWV on both Points & Cash

I have a 4-night stay booked at BWV for a LONG overdue girls weekend.

We are staying on points for Thursday, cash for Friday and Saturday, and then points again for Sunday.

My nights on points are for a Preferred View one-bedroom. When I called CRO, they don't adhere to the same booking categories that DVC seems to. The CM told me that my room view could be anything.

I asked MS what my best odds were for getting checked into a room on Thursday and not having to move rooms for our stay. MS advised me to handle this at the front desk upon initial check-in.

I know that we will have to checkout/check-in as the reservation changes from points to cash and then back to points. I am just looking to see if anyone has any experience with this type of reservation and how successful you were in being able to stay in the same room. TIA

When you have points stays booked with cash stays from CRO, there is no way to link the reservations and therefore, no way to know if you will be moving rooms.

I have even read that in some cases, they will make you move rooms. All you can do is hope that things are not that busy when you visit and you will be able to stay for the whole time. As MS advised, you have to mention it at check in.

The only thing I would say is that the preferred rooms are probably the most likely ones to be given to CRO so that part will bode well.

Thank you for the reply. I had not heard of people being made to move rooms...that would stink.

I am hoping that since we check in on a Thursday and we are in a Preferred view room, that will help our cause for at least the weekend nights that we have on cash.

I know I don't like to use my points for weekend stays because if the higher amounts that it takes. I am hoping that others feel the same way....

Make sure you have all three reservations in the same name (primary name on the reservation). Have MS note the DRC reservation number on both of your MS reservations and ask DRC to note both your MS reservation on the DRC reservation. That will help.

When you check in, see if you are blocked into the same room for the entire stay. You will have to check out on Friday and again on Sunday, but hopefully that is all you will have to do.

Thanks Deb. All three reservations are the same name. But I will definitely call MS and have them add my CRO ressie # to my DVC reservations. And vice versa. I hadn't thought of doing that. I hope that helps.

We are ok with doing the check-in/checkout ritual between the different reservations. We are not doing DDP and we are not going to put our park tickets on our room key. So, it is a minor inconvenience to do that.

The room category is what is throwing me. I completely understand the DVC categories, but CRO had no clue what I was referring to and that is what made me nervous. We have a one bedroom booked for all of the reservations. The DVC reservation is a Preferred View. CRO told me the only categories they book are the number of bedrooms. They don't make reservation by the view.


So, I figured someone here would be able to offer some advise. Thanks!
