Wonderful! Even DH loved the room, he's more partial to VWL or BCV. Room 2125, standard studio, long walk from elevators, but, and here is where the different strokes saying comes in, what a wonderful view and how wonderful the area seemed, so private on the balcony! The amusing anecdote on this trip was as we were leaving our room one morning, the guests in the 1 bedroom next to ours were leaving as well. I smiled and said to the couple, "Good morning, isn't it a beautiful view from our balconies?" The reply was, "Yes, if you like grass and trees." Now, there was a pond with lots of waterfowl, the grass was as green as could be, and the trees were hiding the valet parking lot, and to the right was the canal, and you could see the Friendship boats going by and see people enjoying the walk to/from MGM.
The downside to the privacy is that you couldn't really see our Christmas tree from the outside, but we kept the drapes open with the lights on, and we "knew" it was there.
as we went by on the Friendship boat!
The lobbies of all of the Boardwalk resorts are beautifully decorated for the holidays, but of all of them the BW's are our favorite decorations. We took time to go to WL/VWL and enjoyed the lobbies there. We love to bike ride from WL to FW, and again, I saw a deer along the way. Since we were riding around FW on NY day, we saw some campers pulling up stakes, and it's always sad to see Christmas decorations coming down.
This was our first ever NYE trip, and we hope to make it an "every other year" tradition...just for the fireworks. We didn't intend to "do" the parks, our "must dos" were three , going to the CP, seeing the Osborne Lights, and seeing the fireworks. Thanks to the Disboards, we went to MK on the 30th where we enjoyed the NYE fireworks...spectacular, and we got there around 9and were able to enjoy some of the rides we like like Buzz, Comedy, and Philharmagic as well as the fireworks. Epcot was crazy crowded on the 31st, but it was doable, we went to the country films, France's twice, and we were pleasantly surprised that the Illuminations began at 11:40!
We were especially grateful for the BW location...walking home from Epcot is a pleasure!
We had good bus service except once, waiting at AKV for the bus around noon, 1 oclock...I guess it was a 40 minute wait, and the line was so very long, the bus does go to 5 resorts! 2 busses came but still, it would have been better had the first come 20 minutes earlier!!!
Met a great bus driver, Frank, from MK to WL and in general, had some of the nicest CM's ever. It was on NYE when I passed a bellperson in the hall at BWV. I said Happy New Year, and he repeated the phrase to me and added, "Thank you for staying with us."
We love our DVC even more after this trip!
