Wonderful! Even DH loved the room, he's more partial to VWL or BCV. Room 2125, standard studio, long walk from elevators, but, and here is where the different strokes saying comes in, what a wonderful view and how wonderful the area seemed, so private on the balcony! The amusing anecdote on this trip was as we were leaving our room one morning, the guests in the 1 bedroom next to ours were leaving as well. I smiled and said to the couple, "Good morning, isn't it a beautiful view from our balconies?" The reply was, "Yes, if you like grass and trees." Now, there was a pond with lots of waterfowl, the grass was as green as could be, and the trees were hiding the valet parking lot, and to the right was the canal, and you could see the Friendship boats going by and see people enjoying the walk to/from MGM.

The downside to the privacy is that you couldn't really see our Christmas tree from the outside, but we kept the drapes open with the lights on, and we "knew" it was there.:goodvibes as we went by on the Friendship boat!

The lobbies of all of the Boardwalk resorts are beautifully decorated for the holidays, but of all of them the BW's are our favorite decorations. We took time to go to WL/VWL and enjoyed the lobbies there. We love to bike ride from WL to FW, and again, I saw a deer along the way. Since we were riding around FW on NY day, we saw some campers pulling up stakes, and it's always sad to see Christmas decorations coming down.

This was our first ever NYE trip, and we hope to make it an "every other year" tradition...just for the fireworks. We didn't intend to "do" the parks, our "must dos" were three , going to the CP, seeing the Osborne Lights, and seeing the fireworks. Thanks to the Disboards, we went to MK on the 30th where we enjoyed the NYE fireworks...spectacular, and we got there around 9and were able to enjoy some of the rides we like like Buzz, Comedy, and Philharmagic as well as the fireworks. Epcot was crazy crowded on the 31st, but it was doable, we went to the country films, France's twice, and we were pleasantly surprised that the Illuminations began at 11:40!

We were especially grateful for the BW location...walking home from Epcot is a pleasure!

We had good bus service except once, waiting at AKV for the bus around noon, 1 oclock...I guess it was a 40 minute wait, and the line was so very long, the bus does go to 5 resorts! 2 busses came but still, it would have been better had the first come 20 minutes earlier!!!

Met a great bus driver, Frank, from MK to WL and in general, had some of the nicest CM's ever. It was on NYE when I passed a bellperson in the hall at BWV. I said Happy New Year, and he repeated the phrase to me and added, "Thank you for staying with us." :goodvibes

We love our DVC even more after this trip!

Glad you had such a wonderful trip and thanks for sharing!

I hope to be at WDW next (guess it really is this year :thumbsup2 ) year in early Dec to enjoy the Christmas events. I've been trying for several years to get there in Dec. Hope 2009 is the one!!

I hope you can get there! We'll be there earlier this year, hopefully at WVL...around December 13th. There's one drawback for us, going so late in December, is that the guests are definitely not dressed for Christmas, very very few Santa hats. DH and I brought ours to wear, but we didn't. We didn't see even 20 guests with one on. I did wear holiday tees from previous years, but in general, guests are more in a vacation mode than Christmas mode as we saw it. There is holiday music playing in the resorts still. The BW seems to focus on Frank Sinatra!

Glad to hear you had a good trip!

I know just what you mean about "knowing" your Christmas tree is there ;) Last year our room at the BWV overlooked the quiet pool & community hall. We could see our tree from the Friendship boats, but only because we knew exactly where to look

I love the BW standard view too!!! Its green grass and a heck of a lot better than snow!!!!!!

I was just reading another thread where it took everyone 1-3 hours to get back to their hotel from Epcot so being able to "walk" home is so priceless!

As I said, we went to the MK for the fireworks on December 30th. It was EMH there that night and there were lots of parties going on after the fireworks. DH and I were back in our BWV room by 12:40. We went by bus, actually, we took a YC/BC bus (the BW bus was also going to the S/D and the line was longer) walked from YC to our room, and were fine. I was very pleasantly surprised with the ease that night.

We just got back for BCV. It was wonderful as usual. We stayed in a 2br. It was clean with no complaints. Actually, it was beautiful! The weather was wonderful. The CMs were wonderful! And as crowded as it was at the parks, we got up early and used the early openings to our advantage. We just took it slow and enjoyed ourselves. I felt like I never wanted to sleep. I wanted to take in every minute I could. One night we left MK at 2 and returned before 7 the next morning. We always went back to the room got our swimsuits on and went to SAB or the beach to soak in the sun and take a nice nap. What a wonderful vacation we had! :dance3:

Wow, I had looked at the 7AM MK opening hours and we just couldn't do it. It was a surprise to us that we were able to sleep and did sleep until nearly 9 two of the mornings. I'm glad you had a great time, too!!!!
