No matter the view, if not close, at least closer to "the" elevator is a must. My family is normally a standard studio, 5th Floor requestors. The standard view class is just that, standard. Since DW gives me the responsibility of washing clothes, the location of the laundry room is not a concern of hers. As you know, the 5th floor to the laundry room on the 1st floor is not convenient. On a recent solo trip I requested the first floor so I could just walk out on the boardwalk not having to deal with the elevator; a side benefit was the laundry room.

For those that stay at the BWV, which and why do you find yourselves requesting the most?

Own there and have had like 7 stays. We have requested near elevator, top floor, bottom floor, overlooking village green or no request at all. My fave location was P/G view near end of hallway on upper floor with view towards HS and could see fireworks from balcony. It was quiet and we could see fireworks. I also really liked bottom floor standard view cause we could exit any of the many doors to go out. No need for elevator. But it was a tad noisy as we were directly across from door to clown pool and our balcony, patio really, was close to front portico.

We usually get boardwalk view and always request high floor. Better view, less noise, and it is necessary to minimize the risk of getting a first floor boardwalk level room (which are only in the Crest o Waves section). Those boardwalk level rooms there are perhaps the worst rooms you can possibly get in the entire resort because the crowds passing by on the boardwalk can look right in the room if curtain is open.

We always ask for 4001. Crest o Wave and alllllll the way to the end by Jelly Rolls. BW view. I think it's a wonderful view. Most people do not enjoy that long long walk to the end of the hall, so we've been very fortunate enough to get our request. We do not normally stay on first or second floor. It can get a bit noisy at night so we ask for third and up.

We usually stay in standard view 1 bedrooms, so the location of the community laundry is not a concern.

I strongly prefer FAR AWAY from the elevators - those rooms are the quietest. Noise at the Boardwalk comes mostly from the hallways and Luna Park (feature pool).

If you travel with strollers, ECVs, wheelchairs, etc., close to the elevators or first floor is an advantage. If you can do stairs, you have other options , - close to the bus stop & the walkway to DHS. We prefer those.

When staying in a standard view studio, we always request first floor. My DW also gives me clothes washing duties (actually it’s mainly my clothes anyway, since I try to pack light). It’s as convenient to the elevator and the laundry room as it can be considering that there is a lot of space allocated to mousekeeping before the SV rooms actually are reached. We do like to be able to exit easily to the pool to refill drinks when Leaping Horse is open and to go out the side door near room 1123 to get to the bus stop without going through the lobby.

Upper floor is always my top request. I hate the thought of slithering creatures. And, yes, I know they can slither up .....

we book BW view 98% of the time: requests are near elevator/lobby, 2nd or 3rd floor.
The views are better with the higher floors, but 2nd & 3rd are still have amazing views, & we prefer the stairwells to the BW. floors 4 & 5 are fine when going down, but can be exhausting climbing the stairs on the way up. not fans of the first floor, as we prefer to keep the drapes open all day.
our absolute favorite are the 2nd floor villas with half-wall balconies (which many people hate, as anyone seated & little ones cannot see over the wall); added bonus is that our favorite housekeeper works the second floor

I agree with Carol. We've had the SV villa first 1BR next to the elevator and we heard the clanging of ME luggage cages often early in the mornings. We tend to ask for upper floor too mostly because the lawn care personnel with weed whackers come out too early for us and are pretty noisy.

We like the far end for the back exit to S&D, sometimes bus reasons, the 24 he food court and other dining.

But we also like getting our Fitbit steps In where possible.

We choose the higher floors for the view.

A few weeks ago we got our fave spot ever.

We never get what we request - if we ask for high floor, we get third. If we ask for low, we get third. Fifteen years and we have had one request met (and that was for two rooms close to each other). BUT, we have discovered how nice the compromise is with the third floor. The steps are easy to run up or down without exhausting yourself (vital when your kids are pool age and you are up and down a lot), but the view is still good and you can leave your drapes open (well, I wouldn't stand in front of the windows naked with the lights on with a Boardwalk View, but you know what I mean). There is always noise from any room overlooking the Boardwalk (most of our trips have been BW View), but it isn't as bad as when we've had the room right over the Screen Door (low floor, close to the elevators - but noisy). Maybe I'd love the top floor, but those middling floors are overlooked gems. (And with a standard view, the trees have grown so much since we bought that your chances of a view that isn't the upper branches of a tree aren't good anyway).

(and the half wall balconies are cozy and private. I don't find I can see that much through the slats while seated on the balcony anyway)
