Does anyone know if it's possible to get a fully HA 2BR lock-off with neither bathroom having a tub/shower combo? We need a roll-in shower in the 1BR portion and either a roll-in or a stall shower with grab bars in the studio portion. I know we were able to get that 2 years ago but Disney is telling me that they don't do that. Did something change?

There are definitely roll in showers in some of the Studios but the pocket door is a beast to close. I've never been in a 1 BR unit at BWV so I don't know what the HA 1BR has or how they configured the 2BR Lock-off. I don't remember if the studio one they put us in was a lock off or not. Since I had specifically requested not to have a HA room we were moved after being there for 1 night. I know the room was in one of the weird angles facing the main pool so it was not a regular shaped unit so it's possible it was a dedicated studio.

What do you mean by pocket door?

We just stayed at an HA studio at BWV (nothing else available) and it had a roll in shower with grab bars. It was not a dedicated studio, but, a lock-off, so, you are right!

Hope this helps :goodvibes

Do you know if the 1BR next door was accessible though? We are renters. It worked out perfectly last time but we can't afford to get to BWV only to find out that Disney was right and that they can't accommodate us and now we're screwed.

Well, our neighbors had 2 little ones in wheelchairs, so, I would say it was an accesible 1 bedroom.

Do you know if any bathroom changes have been made since September 2010? That's when we stayed at BWV and we didn't have any issues. We had a 2BR lock-off where I, who need a roll-in shower, had one in the master bath and my grandma who had the studio portion had either a roll-in shower or stall shower with grab bars (I just can't remember which she had). Now it seems like we can't get those arrangements?

I see you got the answer to what a pocket door was. The one in the room I had weighed a lot and was very difficult for me to move even though I am an able bodied person. I couldn't begin to imagine how anyone in a wheelchair who doesn't have excellent upper body strength would be able to move that door. As I said the room was a strange shape show that may have been why they used the pocket door for the bathroom.

Yeah that's definitely kind of stupid to have that in a HA room.
