I've arranged for a private chef to cook a gourmet meal in the villa at the BWV for one evening (very excited!) and I want the dinner to also have a nice presentation. Could someone decribe the type of dishes that are in the Board Walk Villa one bedrooms?
Also what type of table cloth is provided? Should I bring my own table cloth to make it nicer? Do they have wine glasses?THANKS!

Thank you Gail. What exactly is fiesta ware (what color are the plate? plain white? multi color?, ect...)

Actually we have a bluish color and a pink in all the units I have stayed at OKW.

Thank you very much for that link and list. A couple more picky questions: do I need to bring salt and pepper or is it provided. The list on Debs site also mentions liquid detergent (does this mean that I don't need to bring that along to wash dishes?)

Thanks everyone

Expect a combination of light blue and pink. This past December, our unit had pink plates & cereal bowls, but the coffee mugs were light blue. The glassware was all clear/just glass. FWIW, I didn't think there was much in the way of serving dishes. IIRC, there were two medium "Fiesta ware" bowls and one platter. That was it. However, there were 3 different-sized (sm, med & lg) metal mixing bowls and one glass casserole dish. Can't remember the rest. Definitely no napkins or tablecloth. If you really want "nice presentation", IMHO, you will have to provide your own tableware and cloths or perhaps the chef will do so. (I hope she/he brings his/her own cookware. No way will a good chef like the stuff provided). To me, Fiesta ware is more suited to everyday family style dining. It seems just right for the BWV, though!

Enjoy!

You will need to bring your own salt and pepper. Sometimes, the previous occupants will leave a few "paper packets" of salt and pepper in the coffee supplies basket, but you can't count on that.

A small bottle of liquid dishwashing detergent is provided. If you run out, Housekeeping will provide more. You can also call for more dishwasher detergent if you run out - we've always found several packets of that already in the unit, though.

Enjoy your trip!

Thank you VERY much. I'll try to bring my own for the dinner (and I think the chef also will provide if we ask) - we are flying though and taking all that on a plane isn't easy! We'll have to pack carefully! Thanks everyone.

Do you have to pay for extra dishwashing detergent or do they provide this for free? I know they supply you with a startup of laundry soap and I will bring extra when we go, but I wasn't sure about the dishwasher. Thanks.

We've always been able to request more liquid dish soap and dishwasher detergent from housekeeping at no charge when we've needed it. Sometimes, the housekeeper notices we are using the dishwasher and leaves several packages of detergent on Trash & Towel Day.

Actually, according to the latest Member Guidebook on page 87 (hope you got yours), the only things you need to pay extra for (if you want/need more than what is provided) is soap, coffee package, towels and Tide.
