BWV Community Hall/Video Rentals

We are going home in 1 1/2 weeks!

Does anyone know if, in addition to rental movies, are Playstation (or any other system) games also available?

Not sure about rentals, but i believe they have video games that you can play in the video hall. I'm not positive though...

We were at BWV in June, and they didn't have any video games for rent....we thoroughly checked that out as we had stayed at Universal's Hard Rock Hotel for 3 nights before going to BWV, and HRH had PlayStation in the rooms. (What they don't advertise is that it's like a pay-per-view movie though....cost is $7/hour, and they don't tell you when you're about to cross-over to a new hour....out of courtesy of course: they wouldn't want to interrupt the game!) However, as the other poster noted, BWV did have Nintendo games and some video arcade-type games inside Community Hall, and the good part was they didn't charge for any of them. Even the arcade-type games which are typically set-up to take quarters or tokens were free. I think there may have been signs indicating there were 20 minute limits to allow all guests access, but there were more games than kids everytime we were in there, so that wasn't a problem. I enjoyed a relaxing hours a couple days sitting outside by the quiet pool while my younger kids took naps in the villa with my husband and my 8 year old played video games in Community Hall. Have a great trip!

hi: unless they've changed the rules, the videos were free to members staying on points. can't help out with the video games. sorry.

Another videos question....are the videos all older ones or do they have new releases (like The Princess Diaries?)

Videos are free to members staying on points. Just show your room key. Games can not be rented, but are free to play on site to members staying on points. The movie collection is pretty up to date as there were a lot of old and recently released movies. I don't know if PD was in there or not. Children under 13 can NOT rent a PG or PG-13 movie without a parent being present, or the desk will call the room and ask the parent if it is OK. All movies were Disney, Maramax, or Touchstone movies.

Thanks Dave...I don't think I'll be sending my 6yo out for a movie by himself anyway! And definitely not my 22mo!

It just struck me the other day that I might get a chance to see PD at WDW....we don't often get to the rental place at home here and our family is not quite to the stage of having to buy this movie since my ds thinks its "girl stuff" and my dd is too young to notice!

So I guess that means we don't need to bring any of the Disney movies with us?

Have fun Lesley, My boys are 8 and 10, and they feel very much at home at BWV. We do let them go down to Community Hall by themselves, and we give them a set time to return. If they need more time, we showed them how to use the in house phone to call us back and ask for more time.

At the Community Hall desk, there is a loose leaf notebook with all the movie titles sectioned off by rating....G, PG, PG-13 etc.. Titles went back to Disney beginnings including many from the 60's like Love Bug, Shaggy DA, Flubber, Computer Wore Tennis Shoes etc., right up to almost the present. Your room key will have 'DVC Member' printed on it if you are staying on points, and it will act as your library card for check out. When you return your movie, there is even a 'drop slot' for return. The night before check out, you will even get a reminder call if you have any movies outstanding.

Thanks Dave! It sure will be nice in a couple years when my ds knows his way around to be able to give him that little bit of independence..and I can't wait until BWV really feels that much like home!

Now I just have to hope the boys (dh and ds!) don't want to spend the whole trip playing video games in the community hall!
