BWV buses suck

Well I've been here at BWV for over a week and I love being able to walk to Epcot and DHS, but the buses to anywhere else are completely horrible. Doesn't matter when or where I'm taking a bus, every single time they have been completely jammed pack. Half the time they leave people behind. And everytime there is always a group getting off at the Swan/Dolphin to walk back to the resort.

It's just about enough to make we want to go back to renting a car.

I think BWV deserves a prize for the worst bus service on site.

I also am very displeased with the busses. We were at Downtown Disney and we watched every other resort receive two busses to one of ours. It was to the point that our stop was so full that the other stop couldn't load anyone..

How difficult is it to take another bus like to the beach club or to swan and dolphin? I hope this improves by next July though

I completely agree.

BWV shares with Swan/Dolphin and at slower times it can also share with BCV.

Don't count on it. The BWV bus system has sucked since 1996 when the resort opened and my experience since then has been that they have worked very hard over time to make it worse.

We were there Nov. 27 - Dec. 4. There was a cast member at the BW bus stop all morning every day to monitor buses. I only took the MK bus but had good service both to and from. We did the usual route, BW-Swan-Dolphin both directions. I was actually thinking that the bus service was good this time but, as I said, I only used it for MK.

Jean, we were also there Nov.24-Dec.1. We also had a cast member monitoring the bus stop. We only took the bus to MK and had good experiences several times during our trip.

We were at BWV the first week of October, and there was not a cast member monitoring the bus situation. If there had've been, things would most likely have been better. We waited at least 30 minutes for a bus to AK or MK, every time we tried to go to those parks. The bus situation there is one of it's few shortfalls.

I, too, have been a hater of BWV bus service. But in fairness, we just returned from 6 days there and every experience was a positive one. Took buses to or from every destination--MK, Animal Kingdom, Downtown Disney and even Blizzard Beach. Never waited more than 10 minutes. Never missed a bus due to overcrowding. Never had to stand.

Worst experience we had was the time it took driver 10+ min to load two scooters. He was still finishing up when a second bus arrived for same destination. We just jumped on that second bus and were off immediately.

Stopping at Dolphin and Swan is a pain and does drag-out all trips by a few minutes. My son and I got off at Swan once and walked over to BWV but that's just a personal choice. Wife and daughter stayed on the bus all the way to BWV and they arrived in the room maybe 5 minutes after we did. Not exactly a huge time saver for about 1/5 mile of additional walking.

Given the way traffic at WDW has seemingly grown more and more congested in recent years, I'm not sure that driving would have saved any significant time.

I completely agree, the buses are frustrating and sad. The only good ride I've ever gotten at the Boardwalk was from DTD to BWV at around 12:30 am and I happened to be in wedding ears and a white dress as it was the night before our wedding and we were celebrating the pre-event at DTD with our younger/funner family members. The guy pulled up and I was all excited to get back when he tells me he's going to OKW but asked where we were going. I said the BWV and that we don't mind waiting for the next bus. Two minutes later he gets out and says he can take us and drives us right to the resort! I love Disney Pixi Dust!

BUT I also stayed at BLT and I was just as unimpressed with their bus service. Maybe even more so than BWV. I hated going to the Polynesian and GF as much as D&S and BLT is so much further away from anything but the MK as BWV is centrally located.

:rotfl2: Love the title to this thread. So true.

I adore BWV, but the bus situation we encountered back in 2006, regardless of how much people try to argue otherwise, still exists as I found out when we stayed there in 2011. The bus service is *the only* reason we don't stay there more often.

BW, YC, BC and even the S&D are deluxe resorts last time I checked. I don't understand Disney's cattle car mentality for the buses that run through this area.

I have complained about the buses in the past but this trip was a pleasant surprise. We were at the boardwalk from nov 22th thru Dec 2nd and had 23 people in our group with no car. The bus only stopped at the Swan and Dolphin and we got picked up first and then were advised by the bus driver to get off at the swan to save time when being dropped off. Someone was often at the loading area to call for extra buses if there were muiltiple scooters to load. I doubt we waited more than 15min ever for the bus . I was glad they no longer do the Beach club and yacht club on this route but maybe they do in slower periods. I'm not a fan of the buses in general and if in a small group i always rent a car as it is so much better and saves time but for large groups the bus system worked much better than I recall from past trips and most commented on it.

Amen! We recently stayed at Art of Animation for a couple nights prior to a DVC stay. My DH pointed out that the bus system there was flawless, even though its a value resort, while the bus system at "home" (BWV) is why we rent a car.

I went to visit some family staying at AofA on our last trip from Epcot and I forgot how easy it is to take a bus to a normal resort. The Boardwalk, BC, S&D, (Poly, Contemp, and GF) are all supposed to be PREMIUM DELUXE, the best of the best Disney has and they don't hold a candle to the value resorts bus service!

You forgot about the corollary to this thread. Parking at BWV sucks. :lmao:

We've always sent in complaints about BWV, for how many years now? They haven't fixed it yet, and I won't hold my breath that it will happen anytime soon.

why would they work to make it the worst service?
