We're planning a special birthday celebration at Disney World next fall 2002 and considering a 2 bd villa at the Board Walk. What do you suggest - standard or preferred view?? Just wondering if preferred is worth the extra points.

I'd love to see some suggested room numbers/floors/areas - whatever advice anyone can offer would be appreciated.

hi: you'll have to decide for yourself whether the additional points for a preferred view are worth it for you. there's the elusive boardwalk view that's kind of hard to get, also views of luna park pool, the quiet pool and community hall, and the canal for the preferred views. we've never been able to get a boardwalk view (have requested it a couple of times); we'd rather save the points and get a standard view. we don't spend a lot of time looking out of the windows or being on the balcony too much. i think the one time i did spend a bit of time on the balcony with coffee was when we had a standard view that overlooked the driveway. you could see the higher epcot fireworks from the balcony.

I don't think it's worth the extra points. I would love a BW view, but as long as I might look over Luna Park (noise!) , I'll save my points. I had a nice standard view towards the end of the hall last time, looking out at the bus stop and the little pond with the fountain. Who stays in the room that much?

I just booked a standard for 2 weeks in July. I actually prefer the view of the front of the hotel to some of the views I've gotten in preferred (the quit pool, or a side view of the canal). I love looking at the EPCOT fireworks from my balcony (not in all standards, but you have a chance), and looking at the geese in the little canecl going under the main parking entrance.
