BWI vs YC?

We always stay at GF, but might venture to the Epcot/BW area for a trip. We know a little about each resort. But what would the experts say in comparing the two?

Thanks

While I've never actually stayed at either of those resorts, I have stayed at BWV, BC & BCV. We love the BW area because there is always lots of activity going on. We also love SAB at the BC, but it's a little more quiet around the resort. We've decided that since there are things we really enjoy about both locations, we're going to split our next stay between the two.

Hi. I've stayed at GF many times and, of course, loved it! Last week I returned from a GF/BWI split. I have to say, I fell in love with the BWI. It was fun being within walking distance of Epcot and MGM Studios. The BWI lobby is very beautiful (much smaller than GF but very attractive and inviting). I have not stayed at YC but it looks great from the outside and the pool is always described as "the best". However, we walked into the lobbies of both BC and YC and didn't like the "feel" NEARLY as much as GF or BWI..also, from all of the many photos I've seen online, the decor of the rooms isn't nearly as appealing to me. BWI is often compared to GF by CMs for its ambiance. Personally, I would recommend BWI. If you can, go for Concierge. It is the best!!

I have stayed at both the YC and the BWI, and I really don't think you can go wrong with these resorts. I loved my stays at both. The themes are similar, but different enough to be interesting. The BoardWalk has a more feminine decor (but not over the top girly by any means), and the YC has a more masculine/nautical decor. The staff at both were excellent in our experience. Plus, you get the convenience of the BoardWalk's entertainment whichever resort you select. If it is a consideration for you, the YC has a minibar in the room, and the BWI does not. Also, I believe that standard rooms at the BWI come with small daybeds, whereas standard rooms at the YC come with a chair and ottoman combo. My best suggestion would be to pick the resort that has the theming you like best. You can check out pictures at www.allearsnet.com to see which you prefer. :)

I must agree. We used to stay at the GF also and if you like that type of decor, definitely go for the BWI. I've never stayed at the YC, but the decor and ambiance doesn't do for me. If you like the look and feel of the GF, you'll love the BWI. And I second what johnsonet posted about the BWI concierge. It's our favorite place to stay by far.
