Some of the BWI standard rooms overlook the front drive area and/or the Convention Center, but many others overlook lovely gardens and even Epcot. After reading about the BWI on this board, I decided to fax a room request for a "nice view, preferably a high floor with a view of the Epcot fireworks if possible". The rooms were not pre-assigned when I arrived, but the fax request was in the computer and they bent over backwards to try to accomodate my request. I ended up a wonderful view! I did have an advantage in that I was checking in early in the day. I was glad that I didn't pay the extra money for a water view.
If you like to watch the activity of the boardwalk and the boats going by, reserve a water view. If you like lovely, quiet gardens, and want to see the Epcot fireworks, the standard might be better, particularly if you are able to check in early and fax a room request. Either way, you will love the BWI!
