Okay, so I searched thru the Resort boards and I'm still not sure. Is the water view at BWI worth the extra $$? Looks like the parking lot is pretty removed from the resort, so is a standard view all that bad?

Read through the BWI FAQ thread at the top of this board, lots of room view info.

:D

Some of the BWI standard rooms overlook the front drive area and/or the Convention Center, but many others overlook lovely gardens and even Epcot. After reading about the BWI on this board, I decided to fax a room request for a "nice view, preferably a high floor with a view of the Epcot fireworks if possible". The rooms were not pre-assigned when I arrived, but the fax request was in the computer and they bent over backwards to try to accomodate my request. I ended up a wonderful view! I did have an advantage in that I was checking in early in the day. I was glad that I didn't pay the extra money for a water view.

If you like to watch the activity of the boardwalk and the boats going by, reserve a water view. If you like lovely, quiet gardens, and want to see the Epcot fireworks, the standard might be better, particularly if you are able to check in early and fax a room request. Either way, you will love the BWI!

We don't spend the extra money for the water view. We are not there enough even if there were enough things to watch. The water view can be anything from the pool to the lake, and maybe not a direct view. We had a standard room last year and to be honest still had a view of the lake. The parking lot views are not that far away form the action. Sometimes those views are n't that bad. You can still see people coming back and forth from the parks. We htought we woulnd't mind having the main lot view. The only view that is worth the extra money is the boardwalk view. That can be worth the people watching. Anyway, have a great time as I am sure you will.
