BWI or YC?

Which would you choose - BWI or YC, and why?

DH & I haven't stayed in either, and are looking to possibly switch our final 2 nights in early December from POFQ to one of these resorts. Would be using AP best rate. We're staying our 1st 3 nights at the WL.

What differentiates the 2, and which is better for a holiday visit? Would be looking at standard (hopefully king rooms) for both. TIA!

We've stayed at both and preferred the YC to the BWI. (Although, we loved the BWI!!)

They both are beautifully decorated for the holidays. We liked SAB and the location of YC better than the BWI. I guess it depends on each persons individual preference when it comes to hotel and the decor, but the YC ended up the winner with our family. You can't go wrong with either hotel though! Good luck with your decision! :wizard: :sunny:

I agree with above, can't go wrong either way. We have stayed at bwi twice and next trip(October) we are going to yc. Only because we wwatn to try out different hotels. Loved the boardwalk inn though.

Here's another data point...

Also stayed at both and greatly prefer BWI. Sure, SAB is great, but I just like the feel of BWI much more.

Does the YC feel more "secluded"? I just wonder with the Boardwalk right there at the BWI, if it feels a bit hectic.

Or do you get "away" from the hecticness with a standard, non-water/Boardwalk room?

Additionally, is it tough taking care of what would be normal "in resort amenities" - restaurants, refillable mugs, etc. - if you have to go out on the Boardwalk?

Also, did I read somewhere that the YC rooms are somewhat fairly renovated? If so, does that mean the pics on Allears are outdated?

I appreciate your input so far - keep it coming! :wave2:

The areas of the BW Inn that overlook the inner courtyard, rose garden and quiet pool are very secluded.

I do agree that it is easier to get around the Yacht Club to get to the eating areas and refill mug areas especially if it is raining.

If the photos show the armoire with the TV hidden, those are the rooms prior to rehab. The new rooms have a the TV sitting out of a low dresser with drawers.

Thanks, Sammie. That was helpful. On Allears what they have as a standard room does appear to be the old decor, and what they have as a concierge room does apear to be current, based on your description.

Would the BWI be a shorter walk to Epcot?

Does the YC have much in the way of holiday decor? All the pictures I've seen seem to be of the BC.

How are the parking lots at either? We would have a rental car, and would likely use it to get to some parks, etc.

There is very little difference in getting to Epcot from the Yacht Club or Boardwalk. Both are maybe a 7 minute walk. The Studios is a bit shorter walk from the Boardwalk. You can take the Friendship boats from either hotel to Epcot or the Studios. We stayed in a standard room last month at the Boardwalk (4278) and it was great. It overlooked a quiet courtyard. The best part was being able to watch the Epcot fireworks right from our beds! It was awesome. If you want hot food for breakfast you would have to walk outside the Boardwalk, but everything is close by. We found that buying breakfast at the Bellevue Room (a bar at night that we passed on our way to our room every day) was the best deal. They have a nice variety of bagels, muffins, donuts, fruit, and assorted cold items. You could always use room service if you prefer. Both hotels are really nice but I preferred the Boardwalk and would definitely return and ask for a similar room location.
