Our waitlist for a standard view studio just came through, so we were able to add the night before with the extra points (were booked preferred view). I asked to stay on the waitlist for BW view. However, my questions are:

1) Would you give up an extra night for BW view?
2) What is a good location for a standard view studio? We don't really care about being close to the elevators, if we could get a glimpse of the fireworks. We just need non-smoking and would prefer non-handicapped b/c our two young children like baths.

Thanks for any advice you can share!!!

Well, I would not give up the extra night. If I can, I always book std view. And out of the many times that we've stayed at BWV (12) I think I've only had BW view twice. All the other Std views that we've had, have been facing the drive up to the entrance. And yes, we've been able to see some of the fireworks.

Thanks for your response.

Do you happen to remember what rooms/floors you were on, so I can make a similar request?

Thanks again!

If you want the best chance of seeing the higher level fireworks from IllumiNations, ask for an upper floor across from the bus stop. Whenever we've been placed in that locatin, we've had a nice view of the fireworks. If N/S is important, be sure to list that first.

Best wishes -

P.S. Even though the BW view is very nice, IMHO it is not nice enough to give up an extra night - especially since you can sometimes get a fireworks view from the standard view rooms.

I don't have any idea of which rooms we've stayed in. I usually ask to be on the 2nd floor to avoid some of the elevators. We are still able to see the fireworks from the 2nd floor, but probably not as well as on a higher floor. CarolMN has a good suggestion in her post to request an upper floor, across from the bus stop. I've never been that specific, but should work out well for you to make that request. It is always worth the try.

No matter where your room ends up to be, you will have a fantastic time. BWV's is our favorite.

we were on the bottem floor in a standard view and would not have traded it for the world! our room looked out over the lawns adjacent to the front entry and it was so peaceful to sit on the patio at night! we could still see the fireworks overhead but because we were near the end of a hallway we did'nt get the foot traffic noise from the interior or the crowd noise from the exterior.

That's our favorite area at the BWV too! It's soo nice and quiet.

Aww....gotta love my beloved boardwalk villas... I'm so glad it's our home resort.

I would definitely take the standars view room and keep an extra night. We just stayed on the forth floor overlooking the entrance and loved it. We were very close to the elevators which added convenience. You will love going home for the first time!

I love standard view - one of my favorites!!!

if any of this resort is considered quiet - standard view is the section.

yes you get the traffic noise - but that basically stops after midnight - (well I don't heard any more) and the horn from the boats aren't heard in this section.

You will find out what I am talking about when you stay in the preferred view - BW view.

and you don't have to see that silly Clown. Preferred view anything but BW.
