I know this has probably been addressed before, but I'll be darned if I can find it. We have just bought DVC at BW. I love that we can walk to Epcot and MGM. But, what is the best method, short of taking my own car to WDW, of getting to MK? If I remember correctly the ride back can be a little 'tedious', what with the stops at YC/BC and so on. Anyone know of any shortcuts to save some time, especially on those EE days?? I realize that if a resort has other forms of transportation (boats, feet, monorail) the bus system can be lacking. Any chances of that changing?? Thanks all.

From the Boardwalk, the bus will go directly to the MK.

Depending on time of day, and demand, the return journey may stop at just the Yacht, Beach, Boardwalk, or it might stop at all 5. In any case, it only takes 10 minutes to make all 5 of the stops. Worst case, is you can always exit at the Swan, and then just walk over to the Boardwalk, this usually takes about the same amount of time.

If you should decide to drive to avoid a potentially crowded bus, don't forget, you'll be parking at the TTC. From there, you'd need to take the tram, and then the Monorail or Ferry boat to the MK. During park exits, the lines for the Monorail and Ferry can be quite long, and these modes of transportation will be just as crowded as the bus. Once you get to the TTC, you still have to wait in line for the tram, and then navigate the traffic exiting the MK.

With the MK, most people prefer to let us do the driving for you.

Actually, that statement isn't true. The bus system for these resorts is no different than the system for Caribbean Beach, Coronado Springs, All-Stars, or any other Disney resort. In fact, it's all one system.

We-and others on these boards- have found the bus from the BW to the MK lacking--going back is no big deal...we are usually in no hurry to leave!---but when you are going to the MK the waiting around for a bus at the BW can be very disappointing...especially on days when the park opens early (extra magic hour)---the bus may skip entirely the BW because it is already filled up from stopping at the other resorts....our last trip we waited at the bus stop from 7:40 am..and got in the gates at the MK at 8:40 am --giving us and EMTM (extra magic twenty minutes) space mountain already had 1 hour waits...I have never tried driving to the MK from the BW on an EMH hour day but i think we will next time.....do the monorails/boats work from the TTC early on those days--or is it only possible to get to the MK by going by bus or monorail from the resorts?

Yes, a bus may fill up before reaching the Boardwalk... HOWEVER... when a bus fills up, another is dispatched to continue on.

The Resort Monorail is the only one in operation. The Ferry and MK Express Monorail do not start service until 8:45am.

Does the resort monorail still make TTC stops at that hour or does it only stop at the resorts until 8:45?

The Resort Monorail stops at:

Contemporary
TTC
Polynesian
Grand Floridian
Magic Kingdom

Thanks Tyler. I usually do prefer to relax and let the 'purple pants' do the driving. I think I'll just kick back and 'smell the coffee' so to speak. I will be in WDW after all. I was just hearing some not so great stuff regarding the buses from the Epcot resorts. I had heard similar things about the Polynesian buses but I didn't find them to be so bad when we were there last month.
