BW Annual Meeting

Do you know if the converted valet spots are going to be for BW resort guests or will they be general self-park? If they are freeing up the spots that the general public would have to pay for and making them free, it seems they are actually looking to draw more people to the entertainment options at the Boardwalk. I would hope they would also provide an area where only guests could park -- maybe add a gate that opens with a room card like they have at the moderates.

the report.
I do appreciate it as I was not able to attend.

PKS44-

Doesn't BWV pay almost double in bus fees because BWV has almost double the number of units (383 units at BWV compared to 206 units at BCV)?

Shouldn't the cost of the buses be shared equally? In other words, is every member paying the same portion of their dues toward bus service, so that BWV would contribute double just because they have so many more members than BCV? And what portion is DVC's contribution compared to the total cost? I would assume that Swan/Dolphin would pay the lion's share of the cost, just because they are so much larger, but if that isn't the case, then they should flip-flop the busing route so that BWV is picked up first rather than last. Is there any way to find out how they figure transportation costs to charge DVC members?

BWV pays way more than double as a total contribution for transportation--but the point I am objecting to is the PER POINT cost which is 2.4 time higher for BWV than BCV(corrected-Thanks Pam) ...if it were a reflection of more units BWV should pay LESS per point because BWV has an equal number of buses BUT way more points to spread it over...at the very least it should be EQUAL...UNLESS BWV has its own transportation that it is getting for the extra $$ we are paying (which as far as I can tell, it does not)

Debbie, I hope you had a great trip. We are leaving on 12/24 and can't wait!!!!!!!!

I have not kept up with the board lately. OKW is adding a slide? Oops, never mind, just saw this long thread on OKW slide.:D

PKS -- I think you're getting punchy like I do. I think you meant to compare BWV and BCV for the bus dues....(your post says OKW).

Just to try and get a grasp on it -- What are the total transportation budgets and the per point costs for transportation at both BWV and BCV?

They are also looking and packages that include food for DVC members.
I can't see where I would use that over an AP discount! I always have thought the food packages were a waste.

Wow- new mattresses and sofa beds! Just in time for our visit in August, I *hope*!!! Now if we could just convince 'em to make them "Heavenly beds".... Seriously, we aren't fussy, but I did have my concerns over the sofa beds in particular, as it sounded like the BWV ones were hard to get in/out and had perhaps lived a full life already, so to speak.

As for passes -- now you've got me wondering if I should hold off on pruchasing passes for our next trip! We still have quite a few days left on our park hopper plus passes... As for giving us a food option, I agree with another poster that it wouldn't be much of an advantage for us. But discounts on passes OTHER THAN UPH -- that would be worth hearing about.

In any case -- THanks for the update!

Probably because they have a high profit margin. It seems like WDW in general is focusing more on packages rather than "room only".

I wouldn't hold your breath on pass discounts. The last time they came up with a new pass discount it was the infamous "4 of 5 year park hopper" that was a joke.

You're right! I notice that pass discount disappeared almost as quickly as it appeared! I think the food packages we had available in the past were much the same way if you didn't use that much per person each day. I always thought it was heavily weighted toward WDW rather than the DVC owner.
