-It wouldn't hurt to confirm your ressie before you go, BCV claimed we canceled ours...see seperate thread.

-Our one night point saving stay at AKL on Saturday was very nice. Spent nearly 4 of 16 hours there stuffing ourselves at Boma (dinner and breakfast). We were so full that we did not eat out again until the day we left.

-First time at EPCOT wine and food fest. We decided that the World Showcase was always a wine and food fest and that there was no real need to stand in lines when wonderful CM's could be serving you in comfort.

-No alligator spottings but my tip of the trip is that there are 2 grills between the canal and Dunes Cove pool that have yet to be used. Bring on the charcoal and steaks.

-The Winn DIxie just north of the Crossroads was convenient and had reasonable prices. Take 2 minutes to sign up for there card, its free and saved us over $10 on our grocery's. Thanks to fellow DIS'rs for this tip.
Also, there is a liquor store in the same parking lot.

-The hot tub at Dunes cove was out of order for our first few days. The quiet pool is actually functional as a lap pool due to its rectangularish shape. The hottest hot tub was at BWV, the most interesting at AKL.

-You can do some remarkable things with a toaster, a microwave, and a fridge when you are hungry.

-The Epcot resorts are wonderfully functional for park hopping and dining due to their excellent location. We were glad that we sprung for an annual pass this time. That said, we did get a little lonely for our VWL home. When staying there the parks seem more like an option than a destination. I think I could get to feel the same way about AKL and possibly the Poly.

-We enjoyed the Illuminations cruise but would probably only do it again if we were going during a busier time of the year.

Happy to answer any questions.
-Ron.

Thanks for all the advice!
Esp the Winn-Dixie store card. I would never have thought of that.

It sounds like Illuminations was easy to watch during your stay. Did you watch it from within the park in addition to your cruise? How hard was it to find a spot? (I was there on 10/31 and walked up to fence at Showcase Plaza 30 minutes beforehand -- no problem.)

Ron,

Thanks for your report. I didn't know there were grills at BCV. This is good news.

erikthewise,

After seeing Illuminations from the boat (and some from the BCV), we never felt the need to watch from the park this trip. That said, there were plenty of open spots around the lake even after the later tapestry parade ended.

Annmarie,
The grills are somewhat hidden. Walk about 40 feet toward the Yacht Club between the Canal and Dunes cove. They look brand spankin new. Wish I would have found them before our last day there!
