BUZZ's Brigade - TEAM CHALLENGE - POST MILES/HOURS HERE

Casey, DH and I are doing the Las Vegas half, as are Anne (maherae) and her DH. And Jim and I love to visit Red Rock Canyon, but I can't imagine running (or in my case) walking it - those rolling hills are mountains to someone from the flat Midwest!

Cool! I hope I get to meet you guys there! I'm nervous about the Red Rock 1/2 because the race director says it's not an easy course. :scared:

My miles for the week are a dissappointment for me. I was only able to run once this week due to knee pain. So, I didn't want to overdue it right before next weekends race.

6 miles
64 minutes

Hi Buzzies!!!!

Here are my totals for the week of 9/19 - 9/25:

Miles: 9.77

Hours: 3:20:06

Well, the Dr. said I could run this week as long as I wear my compression hose. Luckily it is supposed to get cooler, so that won't be as much of an issue. I think this week's treatment worked better, but I think I will still need another one on Thursday. I'll be glad when I have this all cleared up, but it is a pain right now. :headache: Hopefully my numbers will be better next week. :goodvibes

Updated to Here.

Allie,

Good news on the running. BTW I finally got a Wii Fit and man do we love it.

Lets go Buzzies!

Assuming I haven't been kicked off the team for being a total slacker, here are my totals for the past week.

miles - 5.22
minutes - 158

I haven't been running or even walking for weeks, I think. One of my kids is homeschooled so I have started walking again with him, but other than that I really don't feel like moving. :sad2: I am hoping I snap out of it soon because I have a half marathon in November.

Welcome to all the new members. :goodvibes

Hi All,
Need to be quick. I am in JFK waiting to fly home. Had a good week though.

Miles: 38 miles (double for a 20K helps)
Time: 230 minutes (can't double time)

What was really cool was I got up early today and ran through Central Park. That was a lot of fun. A bit chilly for me, but I toughed it out :)

That's pretty much it.
Duane

Hi Buzz team!

Awesome mileage, Duane! :worship:

Here is my time/mileage for the week of 9/27-10/3:

24 miles
4 hours 40 minutes

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hello All,
Back from Da World to the world. Do have some times though....

Week of 9/19-9/25
Miles 11.5
Time 4:30
Week of 9/26-10/3
Miles 2.5
Time 00:30

Chemo time the next two weeks but plan on some walking time......Love this time of year!

Still on the injured list. Have scheduled appointments with a new ortho (my physical therapist recommended I get a second opinion on treatment) and an orthotics guy (for an evaluation -- not for orthotics yet).

I won't bore you with all the details but suffice it to say I'm not showing any significant improvement -- and my Goofy training days are slipping away. My co-workers are already suggesting I go to WDW without doing the races. I can't imagine how heartbreaking it would be to see everyone with their medals -- not that I wouldn't be proud of them all -- but... Gosh, that would hurt.

I am so ready to be back on the treadmill again.

Hi Team!

120 minutes
3.871 miles

It's not much, but I am getting back in the groove.

Here are my totals for the week of 9/26 - 10/2:

Miles: 6.83

Hours: 2:18:30

Here are my totals for the week of 10/3 - 10/9:

Miles: .5

Minutes: 00:15:00

Sorry, I know that last one is really lame. It is Fall Break here, and I haven't done my regular walking since I'm not getting up for the school bus.

Wendy, I feel your pain sister. My Half Marathon days are about gone as well. I was planning on running it on Nov. 8th, but I haven't run at all in over a month due to my varicose vein treatments. Not that the Dr. has told me not to, I just think I'm afraid that it is going to hurt. I need to get out there and try. Someone please give me a swift kick in the butt to get me back out there.

Mike - Here is some chemo healing pixie dust for you. pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

My times for 10/3-10/9:

6.75 miles, 01:45:00

I'm on week 7 of the 10 week 5K training schedule I'm following. Monday I did two 8 minute runs, but slowed my pace considerably, so I could get through it. Last night, I was able to do an 8 minute run at my regular 12:00 mile pace, so that was pleasing. I'm bumping up to two 10 minute runs Saturday. Oh no!! Good thing I have a friend running with me that day, to keep me going.

Hi team. Here are my miles for the week of 10/4-10/10:

19.1 miles
3 hours 10 minutes

Duane, I know you have been thinking about doing the Red Rock run. I wanted to tell you that I did the Red Rock Canyon half last Sunday and it was very fun. I loved the scenery. The course is hard but I liked the challenge and the views made it worth it all. It was a very small event, less than 150 people. I am sure I'll do the Red Rock 1/2 in March. :)

Hope you all are having a great weekend.

Updated to here. Another 2 weeks of 24 miles for me.

Have a half this weekend that I'm looking forward too, but it's going to be chilly all the sudden and I'm so not a cold weather runner. Oh well. Although it's flat I don't think there is much to look at. We'll see.

Hope everyone is doing well and being active. Hope everyone's injuries get better.

:goofy:

Hi Buzzies, I'm sending a new player over, please welcome Debbie123. She is doing the ToT with us.

Hi everyone!! I just found this wonderful WISH board. I do try to walk a little every once in a while. I have alot of runners in my office who are trying to get me to go to a race and walk. I have made up my share of excuses. I decided to join WW at work and I signed up for TOT 13k. I need all the help I can get. How do you keep track of your miles/hours? With a pedometer?
Thanks for everything.
Debbie

Welcome Debbie!! I'll be at ToT too! I train almost exclusively on a treadmill so it is easy to keep track of my time and distance. A lot of people use garmins or some other gps gizmo to measure their miles, but there is a website that you can plug your route into and it will tell you the distance - sorry I don't know the site's address, but maybe someone here will know! You can also drive your route to determine the distance, and a lot of trails are marked.

Good luck with your training!

Welcome to the team Debbie!

This is one of the ways I keep track of my miles. http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/ I'm not sure if it will let me post that link, but I'm trying. I also have used a pedometer when walking and then converted the miles and I've also just got in my car and drove my most common routes.

Basically how we report our miles/hours here is a weekly total from Friday through Thursday. If you would like to track them for a certain month like just in October you can do that to.

If you have any questions about anything just ask. Someone on the WISH boards will be more than happy to help you. Good luck in your training and at the TOT 13k.

Chris
