BUZZ's Brigade - TEAM CHALLENGE - POST MILES/HOURS HERE

Mike, yes we did get a wee bit wet this week. Actually rained all week long, including Saturday. Had a nice run Tuesday when the storm was leaving. Just a little wet :)

All, don't fret about the Friday to Thursday timeframe. I just report a week, usually Sat - Fri. It really doesn't matter as long as you send in a week timeframe. It will all work out within a few miles in the end.

Last week:
Running: 14 miles 140 minutes
Bike: 21 miles 70 minutes
Other: 100 minutes

Totals: 35 miles 310 minutes

Ok, here are my totals for the Week of 8/15 - 8/21:

Miles: 29.62

Hours: 9:39:22

Ok, I feel like a "true" runner. :laughing: Last Saturday, I went out for my six miler. I looked at the radar before I left, and there wasn't any rain around. Well, when I got outside, the sky looked a little dark, but I still started. About 5 minutes into my run, it began to sprinkle, I continued on. Actually, it felt pretty good considering it has been so hot down here. Well, it rained off and on my entire run. I am a TRUE runner to run in the rain! :yay: :woohoo: :rotfl2: I used to laugh at runners who would do that, and just shake my head. :sad2: Well, now I understand. ::yes::

I got new shoes this week! :thumbsup2 I was hoping they would help with my hamstring/knee pain. Well, I didn't feel the hamstring as much, but I got a HUGE blister on the inside of my right heel. I felt it at about 5 miles. I kept going. I ran 7 miles! That is the longest distance I have ever run! :yay: I am hoping the blister is just due to the fact that I didn't tighten up my shoes tight enough. Also, I didn't put my inserts in my new shoes. I'm trying to change things up to see if the hamstring problem is due to over-correction in my shoes. :confused3 I'm doing every hamstring stretch I know to do. It still bothers me. I have come home after both of my long runs and taken an ice bath :cold: , and that has helped.

Thanks to all you BUZZIES!!!! I wouldn't have been at this point if it weren't for all of you! Knowing I have to report in each week has kept me focused. I just WISH that I could be there in Jan. again. Maybe next year? :rolleyes1
 
Allie, way to go - 7 miles. That is an accomplishment. I bet 90% of the people cannot run 7 miles. You didn't get the new shoes wet did you? I sure hope not.

I have been lucky, I've only had blisters once and it was my own fault. Before EVERY run I use Body Glide on the heals and other "prone to blister" spots. I also have my shoes tied in a way that eliminates heel slip. Learned that trick from the running store. Lube up your feet and make sure your shoes are tied correctly.

Check out this site as there are a lot of shoe tying tricks. I use the one on page 2 "MY HEEL SLIDES UP AND DOWN." This is how I tie my shoes all the time. I have also used the example on page 1 "MY SHOE RUBS ONE SPOT ON THE TOP OF MY FOOT." That saved me. Only needed to use it a for a few months.

Total: Miles 33 time 290 minutes

Hey team where are you at? I've been pretty much on Vacation since the 14th of August so I'm going to try and catch up with everything over the weekend. I'm also giving up my caffeine again so I'm sure the headaches will kill me this weekend.

Hope everyone is doing well. I know we had a few Buzzy's at the Half Marathon (Disneyland) so we should have some good mileage this week?

Hi Buzzies!

Now that it is September, I hope it is a bit cooler for everyones training. We had a few cooler mornings then got hot & humid again. Next week is looking better. :banana:

Minutes - 374 (6:14)

This included my BONUS for my race last weekend. :thumbsup2 I did my 10K about a minute and a half faster than the one I ran in May. :cheer2:

Now, this next week may not be as much due to the fact that I had a varicose vein fixed yesterday, and I'm getting another one treated next Friday. I'm ok, just can't run for a while. :sad1: Once I get the OK, I'll be out there hitting the pavement again. :goodvibes

Hi teammates - I apologize for not checking in. Just wanted to let you know that I was still here and I do have lots of miles to report (I've probably run an average of at least 40 miles/week since I last reported). I am actually in town this weekend, so I will try to add up some numbers and report in then.
 
I don't have my numbers yet, but don't give up on me. I have several races scheduled for the Fall and a lot of training miles that I'm putting in, I just need to tally all the numbers. (Hopefully tonight sometime.)

I'd never do that. :goodvibes I saw you twice at Disneyland the first time I think you had magic morning tickets and I couldn't get to you before you got in and the next was while you were doing the 5k (may have been vice versa.) I gave a shout out at the 5k, but I was across the way so I figured no one could hear me.
 
Hey, Chris! Thanks for coordinating and prodding us along. :hug: I have lots and lots of minutes and miles to report but have to find time to add them all up. I track for 4 different purposes and they ALL use different increments -- minutes for my sparkpeople team on a monthly basis, reported whenever; minutes converted to activity points reported on a Thursday-Wednesday rotation; minutes & miles here on a Friday to Thursday rotation; and my weekly planner which does Sunday to Saturday rotation. :eek: No wonder I am in a constant state of confusion! I'd love to switch it all to Sunday to Saturday.
Anyway, I digress. Sorry! :blush: Will try to report in tomorrow before I leave for my weekend at WDW! :banana:

I have asked GoofyinOhio to take over the captain duties for the Buzzies, it would be wonderful if someone would be co-captain.

This team has some very strong players and you guys have a lot of knowledge to share. I'm doing a recruiting post to get some of our lurkers to come on and join up.

We are into the marathon training season and that is when we need support the most.

Updated to here. I believe Pat is a Co-Captain and leading our Buzzies to Infinity and Beyond sounds great! I will remove the following people from our roster and if they come back re add them which I'm hoping everyone comes back.
