I am kind of disappointed that all of my cross-training is really preventing me from racking up miles. 2 days a week I am working on upper body & core with a personal trainer and 2 days a week I am doing lower body strength training (which he assures me will ultimately improve my times). I haven't been running every day, like I wanted to because the PT said it could negatively impact weight loss, and suggested every other day, especially since I am trying to improve my times and my legs need rest.
Anyway, tonight is a 5k. I am looking forward to running since I haven't had time to run since Monday morning. I hope my legs and hips remember how it's done!![]()
Interesting - DH suggested I start doing weights on the lower legs to improve my times. I kinda rolled my eyes, even though I remember Craig saying the same thing a few weeks ago! I'm trying to run 3 miles 2x/week, bike 1x/week, do upper body and Pilates 3x/week, and then do the LR on Saturday. Sometimes the bike and upper body share a day so I can take a day off. That schedule, however, is a "perfect" week, and it rarely happens.
