Hi!

I already posted this on the other Buzz thread, but I wanted you all to see it.

We rode last Friday) night!!!! It had been closed from 5:30 until about 9:00. We loved it! It is quite different than WDW.
*One thing we noticed is that the rooms you ride through are much narrower, so targets are a lot closer. Granted, we were so immersed in trying to shoot, we didn't do a lot of observation.

*There don't seem to be as many targets as WDW.

*We love the fact that the laser guns are not mounted on the cars. You can pick them up and point them where you want. They also vibrate at times.....I didn't make the connestion to whether they di it when you shoot or when you hit a target. Gee, I guess I'll have to go again!!

*Also, the targets are covered in LED lights that all light up when the target is hit!

*One theory, that we will have to test on a future visit, is that the score board doesn't seem to register your hits if you just old the trigger down. DH said he had to keep squeezing the trigger for the score to come up. I just held mine down and my score was horrible!!

* Almost the entire queue is outside, so if you go and it looks long, it may be deceiving. The inside queue is pretty short and the big Buzz is there giving instructions on a giant Etch-a-Sketch. The line moved REALLY fast. I don't know if it will continue to once they start using Fastpass.

***Possible tip: Near the end of the ride, there is a small black tunnel with lights running through it. There appears to be a target on the wall, behind you, that is black and blends in with the wall until the lights pass throguh it. I get the feeling that if you it, it'll be worth BIG points!!

We're happy to have Buzz and the gang at DL!! Can't wait for Space Mountain to come back and help breathe life into Tomorrowland once more!!!
I'm sure I left some things out, so if you have questions, I'll try to answer!
them!!

Take Care!.........Lisa (I really need to fix my siggy) :badpc:

I'm looking sooo forward to trying this out. Thanks so much for the report. :)

I think by May 5th, they'll have this attraction also hooked up to the Internet so gamers at home can play along with the guests -- they'll be choosing targets, from what I hear, and if you hit one of these lighted targets your score will jump up. So  .

Thank you so much for all the information on Buzz. The internet interaction sounds great too.

FYI...you can EMAIL your pics aboard the ride to your home/friends, etc! Very cool!

I rode it twice today. It's much easier to score points than the WDW version because the guns are not mounted on the cars. It was really helpful the first time through when the cars stopped (assuming they were getting someone in a wheelchair on or off) and I was able to score probably 10,000 points while we were stopped. Second time my score was about 10,000 lower than the first time. It seems like there aren't as many point scoring opportunities though (not so many targets) as WDW. I don't know if it's possible to get 999,999 points (unless you stay stopped for awhile). I do like that there's a green light on the back of the gun that lights up when you score. Also, it looks like if you hit a target dead on it lights up.

I'm looking forward to Buzz. I hope it's running next week. :sunny:

Did you get your pics on your email? mine did not go thru, and I am wondering if anyone elses did. I do have a gmail account that I sent them to rather than my hotmail account, maybe that is the problem? Thanks!

Just got home this morning and Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blaster ride was running all weekend. We had a blast. We opened the park every morning and my dh, dd, myself and my ds and her family had a great time. We rode 6 times on Saturday and 6 times on Sunday. Most of the time the wait was longer for Star Tours then Buzz. :rotfl: Go figure.

I took pictures. Just have to ftp them up to my server so that people can get a peek.

By the way shoot for the triangles and diamonds they are worth more points. My DH got 654,000. My highest was 364,000!

Also you can't cheat on this Buzz ride like you can at WDW. On this one you have to keep squeezing the trigger while at WDW I always just kept my finger on the trigger to score higher points. Oh well.

We didn't get the email either...I was hoping it was that they upload only once a day, but it's now day 2 and I still don't have it...hmmmm....wondering if that's not working...hope it does later on when we are there in MAY!

Actually, got the emails today (almost 36 hours after the ride)...very slow load but look great. Pics then will link to the play at home version from what I can tell.

We were able to ride it yesterday at 4:00 :) DS was so so so excited it was running and DS2's reaction to it was priceless... AND even with baby in my lap I still beat DH and DS! HA!! :cool1:
