Buzz Lightyear Mystery Target...

Last week I hit a 100,000 point target on Buzz and had 300,000 or 400,000 before I left the room. ...But it wasn't in a room with any visible/known targets.

It was in the very first room you go through after you load - the black room with the disco ball where you can't even spin your ship until almost halfway through. I'm pretty sure that when the points starting accumulating I was shooting back towards the disco ball or maybe up at the ceiling, although perhaps I got off a few unintentional lucky shots at the 100k robot arm or claw in the next room before my ship swung back towards the disco ball. I was just fooling around and suddenly had all these points.

Does anyone know if there are any hidden sensors in this room like there are in the one towards the end with the animated ships flying around and, if yes, where exactly it/they might be?

I've "heard" that there are, but I couldn't tell you where. (is that the correct spelling of where?) Hopefully someone can clue us in.

My family is in love with Buzz Lightyear, especially for its short waits compared to TSM (but we love that ride too).

I'm not a huge player myself, but a family member of mine got the highest score (999,999) on our last trip were we played 10 consecutive times. Yes, I think there is a special target in the first room according to my family members it is one of the astronauts? My suggestions are whenever you see Zurg, hit the target right below him. Arrows should light up above it until you hit the last one which should give you about 100,000 points, if I remember correctly.

Also in the Volcano room, this is really hard to see and small but there is a building that on the top has a spinning line of targets. This should also give you 100,000 points. To be more specific, I think the building is on the left of the Volcano in that room but to shoot the target you will have to be a lot farther away in the room. You can get a close up view of the spinning target when you ride the People Mover.

I think that if you hit both of the robot's claws, another target will pop up. I can't remember what. But I got that once. :yay:

Thanks; this could be it. There is one sort of dangling down from the ceiling, which is where I seem to remember aiming. I'll have to see if I can replicate it when I head back after the Thanksgiving crowds invading this weekend die down.

On our last trip I got the 999,999 point about half way through the ride. I have NO idea how I did it and my sister is convinced that the game was rigged or broken. I had to take a picture of it and I rub it in every now and then. :rotfl:
Sorry I'm no help. ;)

Yup, my son too. We have the picture to prove it. I want him to fess up on the clues.

If you tell the CM's at the exit that you got the 999,999 they will give you a pin that says Galactic Hero.

Both of my son's and I earned this on our trip this last year and my hubby did not! It was fun for all of us to wear our pins and him not have one. I got it our first ride of the day, it took my youngest a few rides, and we had to ride over and over again until my oldest son got it! We always aim at the claw when riding backwards, top of volcano, and bottom of Zurg's ship.

That happened to me too and my daughter accused me of cheating.:rolleyes1
The car in front of me also had 999,999 so I think there was a glitch in the system.

...A little might go a long way, but not quite enough for me because none of those links has the answer to my question. I looked at all those pages (plus several more) before I posted. They list the commonly known hot targets. The one I'm looking for does not appear to be commonly known, which is what motivated me to ask about it here. On seemingly every site I've found (including the ones linked), people talk about the "first room" being the one with the robot and the claw and that those are the big ones to aim for. These target suggestions are valid, but that's not the first room you go through; there's a room before that and there seems to be a hidden 100k target. Someone here indicated that it might be on an astronaut, of which there are several in the room. None of the other sites have this info.

Sorry for the double post just wanted to tell OP that I didn't intentionally repost same link. Hadn't made it to that comment yet.

Since you are all experts on this ride :)

I am going for the first time in May. It will be me, my husband and 2.5 yr old. I seen in pics it is a two seater. Can we all ride together? Just trying to prepare. Thank you.

Yes, but there are only two shooters.

Thank you for the quick response. One of us will give it up for DD. I think she would need help

I remember once hitting a target and getting a bunch of points like that. I am not sure what it was from
