Buzz Closed 5/11-13

Just an FYI, I was checking our travel dates again last night on Disney's site and noticed Buzz Lightyear closed for May 11-13.

I know! it was freaking me out because it is first 3 days of our visit, also it is not on any of the closure boards

The queue and ride vehicles have been in such poor shape recently. I think it's just a cleaning.

I would also guess that they're just going to spruce up the ride (e.g., re-paint, make sure everything is working, etc.). With only three-days, I doubt anything drastic/major will change.

When we their a week ago, the outside had tarps all around it, so they are up to something.

I don't think that they're going to be doing much with the ride per se. Rather, I think it's all part of sprucing up the park for the 60th anniversary. A lot of the facades and building exteriors have been under-going cleaning, etc. lately. With less than a month to go, I would expect to see a mad flurry of activity from now until the Kickoff to the 60th.

Agree with Figment. The ride is currently getting a façade cleaning/painting with the tarps up. They're likely just closing the ride for 3 days for a quick cleaning. There are a lot of rides going down with short notice for only a few days. Example: Indy just went down and there was only about a month's notice. But it's not down for long. Haunted Mansion and Space are also going down for a short time. Although HM is to get the ghost, but Space is probably for basic maintenance, it's only 1 day.
