Hi - just trying tro work out the best way to buy bottled water; juice cartons etc for the kids. staying at POR with no car. Is it worth ordering from garden grocer? Its $12 delivery charge - is there a minimum orde amount as on DDp so dont want loads of stuff. How much are essentials at the disney shops, and could I get, for example, a multi pack of individual bottles of water at the POR shop? Thanks in advance for any advice xx

My suggestion would be to buy a couple of the disney cups at the hotel which you can top up anytime you are in your hotel with juices, coffee, tea, milk and usually hot chocolate. It is usually a good buy. We have bought 2 cups in the past for the 3 of us to share. I dont know how much they cost now though?

As you are on the dining plan during the park hours you would get drinks either with your meals or can use as snacks so I personally dont think you need to buy from garden grocer. Thats my opinion.

Also if you buy a bottle of water or have as a snack you can fill it up around the parks at the water fountains if you want to:thumbsup2

We ordered from Garden Grocer and we found it invaluable - we ordered a 24 back of water (at only $5.99 or somthing silly like that), loads of soft drinks, and cereal bars and cinnamon buns to eat in the morning or to take as a snack. We also ordered crisps and bubble bath (random - just so I didnt need to put it my case!:lmao:).

I think we only spent about $50, but it was so hot when we were there we needed all the extra drinks even though we were on the DDP.

We didnt both with refillable mugs this year since you got drinks with counter service and I'm glad we didnt as we couldnt have been bothered to walk to get drinks when we were tired.

We had our Garden Grocer delivery delivered to bell services (this was at Coronado Springs) and then they delivered the food (and us and our cases!) to our room on a golf cart, the cast member even carried everything up for us :thumbsup2

I have ordered from gg for our feb trip mainly because i have an infant, so i need plenty of water and stuff for her but i also ordered a couple of boxes of cereal as i want to use our ddp credits on lunch and dinner plus some bottled water and soda so that we can each take a drink out with us each morning, and then buy additional drinks with our snack credits. The drinks in the parks and resort shops our quite expensive compared to local supermarkets so for me it is worth paying the delivery charge. Hope this helps.

I didn't see anything about a min order when i was on there. My order was about $45.

We have used Garden Grocer once before, when staying in an off-site villa, and were very pleased with the quality of service.

I think it's better for a 'big shop' than just a few items and they do charge more than the supermarkets.
Essentially they go to the Publix and get it for you, rather than you doing so yourself.
