buying tickets off Ebay?

Has anyone ever done this before? Several sellers say that the tickets have never been used (I know i don't want left over days from MYW tickets). I checked feed back and the sellers all have good feedback. So, what's the catch?

I don't believe you can truly assess whether the tickets have been used or not until you are at the gates. It is an act of trust. You can't go back to ticketmania (or whoever) and say there is a problem with the tickets...you are just SOL. Or so I believe.

The thing about buying passes on Ebay is there is no way to verify how many, if any days are left on the passes. Once at WDW you can verify the days but if there are no days left you're totally out of luck and the cost. WDW won't help because the passes aren't to be resold. Most likely, Ebay and PayPal won't be able to help either since there is a specific time period to make complaints of this nature. Feedback can be left up to, I think, 90 days but that doesn't really stop the seller nor hurt them that much.

ETA Lately it seems Ebay hoppers have been going higher (add in shipping) than what it would cost to just purchase the new tickets from WDW or a reputable dealer.

I purchased an adult MYW 7 day ticket from Disney.com in Feb. and it say expires 14 days from first use on the ticker. So if someone goes and only uses 4 days that does not mean that they can sell the ticket and there will be 3 days left. I have thought about selling my ticket on ebay because I just booked our trip using the pin code that was emaile out for Sept. It is saving us so much money (tickets, hotel, and dining all included for $425 per person) I couldn't pass it up. Now I have this extra ticket. I wish they would give me a refund as I still have the receipt and everything, but I've been told that refunds are not possible. I know if I sold it on ebay I wouldn't be able to get all of my money out of it. soooo, I guess I'll have to save it for next year :confused3

There is no way for you to tell if the ticket is good. It's all a matter of trusting the seller. They could be ripping you off or they could be like me and just do not need the ticket any longer. I'm not sure if that is a risk I would be willing to take with my Disney vacation.

I have never seen tickets with enough savings to justify the anxiety over wondering whether or not they are any good.

I bought two tix from Hotwire - then the deal with the dining package came out - I wanted that deal, which requires you buy MWY tix, so I sold my two tix on ebay - one and only time I sold anything - got back what I paid, so I was happy - that could be the reason others are selling them.

I agree with boucheresq. I too purchased tickets and then received the email offer which was too good to pass up. Now I am stick with tickets that I don't need. Thinking about selling them on Ebay. So you never know!
