Buying tickets for January. So unfair for AP Holders!

I am planning a Universal visit for my niece and her family for 4 full days of park visiting in January. They finally now offer tickets for sale for January and when buying a multi-day ticket with p2p access, it now includes Epic for all of the days you buy. How nice that you can roam between all 3 parks on all 4 days of a 4-day ticket. (When I say 3 parks, I'm not including VB in January!)

Our dilemma is that we booked HRH at the APH rate which is the only way this is doable. I was planning to get my niece a Seasonal AP just for the hotel discount. The problem is that AP holders still can't roam through all 3 parks like the multi-day, multi-park ticket holders can. If her kids and husband decide to hop to Epic on their last day she, as an AP holder, would have to pay for another entry into Epic. That is ridiculous.

I don't see it as an option on their website right now, but I can only hope that APs for sale after January 1 will include Epic visits.

Am I missing something here?

Agree with this - traveling with family in February and will have a mix of AP holders and multi day tickets! Trying to coordinate with a large group is confusing as it is without this to complicate things.

Some of us will be able to pop over to Epic while others will not ......

Watching for potential changes :)

I'm an out-of-state, on and off passholder, and am not even planning to go back to Epic on our next quick trip, so this isn't currently affecting me....But I don't like how APs are being treated. Options are limited unless you spend a lot of extra money for US/IOA access you already have. And even one-day Epic tickets are sold out or not available for the entire holiday break. Jan 1-4 were unavailable just hours after they first started selling Jan tickets.

If they don't want to offer an annual pass to Epic yet, which is understandable, couldn't they at least offer add-ons to APs that allow different numbers of Epic days at discounted prices, not merely single date tickets with a small discount?

I am tempted to hold off buying any ticket for her until after she checks into HRH. If they ask for proof for APH rate, we buy an AP. If they don't, we buy the 4-day ticket with p2p access.
This is some crazy BS.

Agree with you on this - I've never been asked to show my AP for the AP rate - but it does happen so be ready.

As for APs getting access to Epic it does not look likely - especially now that single day tickets are available till the end of 2026.

It's pretty ridiculous - was expecting at least a better price in 2026 for the single day tickets.
They know they are making the AP holders angry - it was a hot topic with most of the bartenders when I was there for the last two weeks, Every AP holder I spoke with was pretty unhappy and not going back to Epic any time soon.

I had also heard that there will be no more free parking for AP holders at Epic - not sure if that has been announced - but several bartenders at Epic mentioned this.

I'm not sure what they are thinking, but I don't see myself renewing my AP without an Epic option.

We had APs for several years when our kids were young and we'd vist 3x per year or so. We were never asked to show our APs at check in but of course they could crack down whenever they want. From what I recall back in those days of people posting on here is if one could not produce an AP at check in, they were given a certain amount of time to show one or their reservation reverts to rack rate. I would never let it go that far. We'd be buying an AP immediately if that happened. For people living out of state, there's really no more reason to own an AP unless you have no interest in Epic which is unlikely.

It just really boggles my mind how poorly they are treating their AP holders right now. I don't even have one and I'm angry for those who do.

I think it would be fair to give AP holders one Epic visit per month. Use it or lose it. You can’t stack 12 of them and try to use them all during Christmas week.
Give them something.
