Buying Ticket at the Gate

I haven't been to Universal Orlando in about 30 years but I am going to be in Orlando for a work event the week of September 23rd and am thinking about going to the parks for one of the days. Being peak hurricane season and since I don't HAVE to go to the parks (by this I mean that it's not the purpose of me being in Orlando), I was thinking of just purchasing a one day ticket at the gate, once I get a better idea of the weather and I know I can sneak away from the work event for the day. Plus I'd prefer to pay cash.

In looking online, people recommend pre-purchasing tickets to save money, but would the price differ that much? I have no issue paying a little extra to just buy it at the gate. Then my second question is if I can purchase a ticket for the next day at the gate. Let's say I want to go to the parks on a Wednesday. Can I go Tuesday afternoon and purchase a ticket at the ticket booths for the next day? That way I don't have to wait in a line to get a ticket on Wednesday.

Thank you in advance for any help given!

I would just buy the ticket online on the night before your visit. Then you don't have to go to the ticket booth either day, and you get the online pricing. I guess it depends on how strong your preference to pay with cash is.

What PP said. You can buy online and just scan the barcode when you enter, no need to print it. Better price and no line.

You can even purchase them day-of online too--lots of reputable third party sellers have better pricing. If you prefer to pay cash, sure, you can purchase them at the gate. I often see lines though, so you may still wait to buy your ticket at the gate if you go that route (even in 2024).

Standing in line to purchase tickets is a real pain. Lots and lots of foreign visitors that slow the line because they usually need some extra help.
