Posting for a friend.

They want to buy resale (new restrictions regarding original 14 is not an issue).

However, they want the perks (annual pass, membership magic). Can they then buy direct? What is the minimum?

Also, friend wants to buy with family member (who lives in same state but different household). Can they have two addresses so that both households have access to direct benefits?

Thanks!!!

Yes, multiple people can be on a deed even at different addresses. The people living at those addresses can obtain annual passes through the member. The member is the only one who can execute on certain benefits. For example, if two brothers buy together, and list only themselves on the deed, neither spouse would get a blue membership card, which means no merchandise or dining credits unless one of the brothers is with them to show the card. The members themselves have to book DVC exclusive events, such as moonlight magic and the back stage Soarin' Tour.

The minimum is 75 points for benefits. Most people buy resale first, and then match the use year and resort with a 75 point direct buy.

Note that it will take a long time to recoup the premium you'll pay on those 75 points by the savings on annual passes alone. The other benefits, like moonlight magic events, only work if you be there to get them when they are offered. The dining and merchandise discounts are nice, but most of the same discounts are there for annual pass holders, and Disney Visa card holders. Also note that the member benefits are NOT guaranteed. DVC has added and taken away benefits over time.

I did this for BLT about 2 years ago when the minimum was 25 points for direct benefits and the price delta was about 40 bucks a point. (I paid 185)

There’s no way I would buy 75 BLT points direct these days at 225 a point for member benefits
