Buying DVC directly at WDW: Question about Purchasing and Payment Process on Property

oh so they will count it as a completely new membership?

As I just posted, it will be a new membership which means you have to do at least 100 points.

But you will be eligible to get the current owner incentives since you are an owner.

Thank you! This really helps. We will go for 150 points- do you recommend breaking it down to small portions? Will we still be eligible for incentives if we do that? And do you have any idea how long the whole process takes? We will be paying through credit cards (not financing).
Thank you for the assistance!

With a new membership, you can break the 150 down as 100 and 50..but not smaller because the minimum is 100.

When I did my new June UY last year, I couldn’t do that because the minimum was 150 so it had to stay 150.

Since you have the option, you could do that but will pay a little more in closing costs to do it.

If this 150 is to qualify you for membership extras..which is what you need to get them, I wouldn’t worry because you need to keep those points to keep the benefits.

If you call a guide today, you will have your points by tomrrow at the latest….maybe even before the night is over depending on what time the department works until on the weekends!!

Thank you ! Really helpful advice.. Counting days to use our home resort the first time as a DVC member!

Back from our fantastic 3 week trip to Florida including 10 days at the most magical place on earth :)
We finally became DVC members buying 150 direct points at the VGF. Our guide Blake did an amazing job guiding us through the contract signing process which took longer than usual due to us being from Germany! He was simply fantastic! :)

Thanks again for all your help and advice in advance. We are so happy to be part of the family now for the at least the next 41 years :mickeyjum

For those of you who use Wise and have also rented points out via Davids resulting in Paypal payments, have you ever managed to transfer your Paypal US$ balance to your Wise account? I've tried a number of times to do this, but have never managed to succeed.

Had to transfer funds to U.K. bank first. Do you use Wise to pay your dues monthly?

No, I use the Wise card to pay our dues annually. I've just rented quite a few points out though and have a large cash balance sitting in PayPal. I know I can use the balance to buy Disney Gift Cards and pay for our dues that way, but the amount we've got is higher than the dues and I'd rather use it to fund a resale contract I've currently got going through ROFR. I want to keep the funds in dollars, so don't want to send it to my UK bank account.

Gotcha, I have a direct debit set up to pay my dues monthly through wise… works very well.
