Hi everyone. We are a WDW family, but then Universal Studios builds Harry-land just as our 10 year old son decides he like Harry and friends. I promised him that if he finished all of the HP books by the time we leave for our magical trip in July, he would get to go to Universal. It looks like this might happen. We have used UCT before and had a great experience with them but was hoping there might be an even cheaper way to get to universal. Help!

Thanks!!!!!!

If you collect Airmiles you can trade in for US/IOA tickets.

Airmiles is a Canadian rewards program.

OP there are a few reputable discount ticket sites such as uct. They will have different sales at different times but mostly they will be within a few dollars of each other all the time.

If you're a military family you may find a little more savings but that's about it.

If you're spending your time at WDW and just going to US/IOA for a day, the best deal I found was through Dreams Unlimited. They offer a 1 day-2 park ticket with transportation for about $115 + tax.

OP, you can also get a 3 day pass that doesn't expire for 3 years from Costco. It is $139 plus tax and is a 2 park three day pass. You don't have to use them all at once, which is nice.

Would you mind posting a link? Or is it something you can only get in stores? I looked on the Costco website and didn't see this.

Some credit cards have recently added something called "Ultimate rewards" which lets you trade in the points for gift cards and the like, and one option there is Universal tickets. The tickets are 1 day 2 park tickets and cost 5000 points each, which equates to $50 as that is the cash reward you could opt for instead for that point level. that was the least expensive one day tickets I found anyhwere, even more so as they are 2 park tickets.

They are only in the stores and not all stores have them. Call first to find out if they are at your local store (if you have one near you). The item number is #528887

Yes, it is only in stores. I can post a picture I took of it at our local Charlotte location for a friend.

OP here....I called our local Costco and she told me that it was an online item only. They didn't have any in stock nor did the surrounding locations. Darn! I wonder if I can call Costco's in other states and have them send the tickets to me if I pay via credit card.

Has anyone ever done a timeshare presentation to buy extremely discounted park tickets (either WDW or Universal)?

AAA is my next phone call....

Thanks everyone! Keep the suggestions coming! :)

I think you received incorrect info.....it has never been online.

Do you have any family in other areas?

I don't mind doing it for you, but I know you don't know me at all.

I put off buying and when i went back Sunday, the entire display was gone. So I went to another Costco yesterday and also no display. Not sure if they will come back. :( These are both in the Gaithersburg/Frederick area of Maryland.

I've been looking on craigslist for tickets, i've found SEVERAL places selling 2 day passes for under 100.00, so i'm just waiting till i get there to buy tickets

Are you worried these might not be legit? Is there any way to prove they are legitimate before you hand over money?

I'm planning on meeting this at the gates and verifying if they are legit. I know several of these places are set up across from the gates or very close in booths.. I'm def going to verify before i exchange any money lol.

For those interested in the COSTCO tickets - got mine last night in the COSTCO in central Ohio and was amazed to see the $139.99 is total price! No Ohio sales tax on these, so that gives me extra butter beer money :rotfl2:

Most of those ads involve timeshare tours. That's not a bad thing if you have the time (we do it all the time ourselves) but if you are on a short vacation it essentially kills a day of it.

Not sure if this has been mentioned on the board anywhere ... but we recently purchased the Orlando Flex Tickets, which give you 14-day unlimited access to Universal, Islands of Adventure, Sea World, Aquatica, and Wet & Wild.

We got the adult tickets for $247, and child for $227. They arrived at my office (where I have anything of value shipped) within two days. Better price than on Mousesavers with the reader discount (which is $263/$243).

When we priced it out, it really made a ton of sense for us. We will be there June 30-July 11 with our friends, and each of us have 9-year old boys. Even if we wanted to do each park just once, its a *significant* cost savings. I bought our Disney tickets through YES, and we got 5-day parkhoppers with waterparks (the cost was negligible to add the waterparks through that program), so we honestly have little to no restrictions on going anywhere or doing anything throughout our trip. We're doing the first 6 nights at a timeshare and the remainder on Disney property, so the only thing we have to plan around is that we're going to get rid of our rental car when we stay at OKW.

For anyone in the Chicago area, as of yesterday, there were still tickets at the Oak Brook Costco. Hopefully, the display has not been removed. Good luck!
