Buying Direct - Will disney convert existing resale?

I'm concidering a second contract direct from Disney for BLT where I bought my first one. I'm wondering if anyone has ever had any experience where Disney could convert the first contract from resale to direct if a customer bought a new one direct? Seems like it wouldn't be impossible for Disney to do since they are getting a new contract direct.

But why do you want them to "convert" your existing contract?

You can sell the resale contract and buy a different contract direct from Disney if they are selling the older resorts.

OP, you mean you want to convert the MEMBERSHIP to one that allows access to the perks and benefits by buying an add-on direct, right? You can't "convert" a contract but you can buy a direct one separately (and sell the resale one if you want.)

No need to covert anything; once you have a direct contract you get a member card for those points. I'm a "pre-ban" VWL resale owner who has a card, but will soon (hopefully) be a "post-ban" resale Aulani owner. So long as I have my member card I'm entitled to perks whenever I'm staying, regardless of what points I happen to be using for the reservation.

Now I assume this matters if you want to use those points for a cruise or other non-DVC vacation, but as we all know those are bad deals.
