It looks like direct contracts have to be at least 100 pts for a first time buyer. However, does anyone know if you could buy two 50 pt contracts or two 75 pt contracts direct at the same time and that would be allowed? Additionally would it be considered 100 pts as far as DVC perks? Decisions are had :P

I would ask them. I imagine if you're willing to but 100+ points, they might break it into smaller contracts, but it would depend on the minimums of the resort. There's no harm asking, and in this time, they might make exceptions to close a sale.

If you buy 2 contracts that total at least 100 points, you will get the Blue Card and all the direct benefits. Just keep in mind that if you ever sold one, you would lose the benefit.

I think it depends on the resort and whether or not they will let you break them down.

Also, if you bought 150 points to be eligible for the perks, but got them in two 75 pointers, you would lose perks if you every sold one because you would not be below the minimum at the time you bought.

So, if perks are important, I’d be sure to make one contract 100.

Better to buy 100 points in one contract if you know you will keep it forever for the blue card and then buy another 25 or 50 or even two 25's. They will split them up but you do have to pay closing costs on each.

You can buy in at 50 points for certain resorts like Old Key West, Saratoga Springs, and Animal Kingdom. I bought 50 points direct at Animal Kingdom recently. You can always talk to a guide for more information.
