Are there any disadvantages to ordering contacts online? I have always bought my daughter's lenses through her eye doctor but just realized that I can get the same brand/prescription for $30 less online.

Any problems with ordering online? They're the same product, correct?

Yes they are the same, there shouldn't be any problems.

This is my personal take: NO Matter where I get my contacts from they have to be ordered since I have a high script so I might as well order myself save a few bucks, get them sooner and right at my door vs having to drive back to office wait, get lectured about care etc.

What companies do you use?

What companies do you use?

I've used 1800 contacts, vision direct , and another which isn't coming to me right now. Most companies have offers thru Mypoints or sunshine rewards if you use them.

I recently had lasik so I don't have to wear contact any more (yay!) but I used aclens.com for years and never had a problem. They always had the best prices I could find.

I work in an optical shop and recommend 1800 contacts..they ship quick and offer bulk discounts.

I love aalens.com

Everytime I have looked they're either the cheapest or pretty comparable. Their special section is also very good. They aso offer various types of lenses on clearance when the expiry dates are coming close - and they spell the dates out clearly to you so you know.

They ship from Singapore and are always very prompt. Shipping is only $1.50 worldwide, which is nice. They have every brand I've ever searched for.

I've been buying from them for about 3-4 years now. I also like that they save my info so I don't have to remember my prescription. Another thing I appreciate (which I know most optometrists don't recommend), is that they don't demand to see your prescription. At one point I wasn't covered for vision care and didn't want to pay for a test just to get refills on my lenses. I tried some of the major companies online but they all asked for prescriptions. That's partly why I ended up with aalens.com. I just had to put in the info from my box and I was set.

I have bought DD contacts since she has gotten them (2x) LOL. Each time I used a different company. I go whichever one is cheaper! I do make sure they have good reviews. We have had no issues with buying them online.

I've used 1800contacts for my dd's contacts for years. Since I got mine, I've been using the optical shop, but they are pretty close in price and I'm only wearing one at a time, so not a big expense.

1800Contacts is about twice as much as it cost me at Vision Direct.

Walmart uses 1800contacts and since the last time I had my eyes checked, my doctor now uses 1800contacts. $129 for 6 pair or $129 for 12 pair, I went with Vision Direct for $129 for 12 pair. That's about 2 years worth for me.

Yes, I used both of these companies before I had Lasik done. Even got the MyPoints, too. :thumbsup2

I would also recommend Walgreens.com

They are about $5 a box cheaper for my contacts than 1800contacts and about $15 a box cheaper than the doctor's office.

You order online and have them at your door within a few days. Also, they often run 20% off discount codes.

1800Contacts will price match, plus take off 2%

I did this last week. 1800Contacts had my Biofinity for 49.99 a box, and Contactlens dot com had them for 22.84 a box. They matched that over the phone, took 2% off, and told me I qualified for an additional $24 off since I bought 4 boxes. I felt like I stole them! Do your homework for sure!!
