We are going in Nov and I know I will want to buy presents for Christmas there, but how do you buy them/get them home without them knowing?

You can have thing shipped home. I've done it with bigger things (village houses from Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe). You don't pay sales tax if you live outside of Florida when you have them shipped. Doesn't pay for shipping, but helps a bit.

ETA: just ask at the counter when you check out. They'll give you the info. They've used UPS in the past when I've done it.

Definitely ship them home. They come in relatively unmarked packages...just a small label marked WDW merchandising or something like that. I've done this for my dh as well and he was none the wiser.

Also don't forget that if you are staying on site they will deliver them to your resort. I don't know if they deliver them to your room but ask if it could just go to the front desk and then be sneaky. Take a dark plastic bag with you so that you can hide things in it carrying it from the desk to your room.

We went last year in November too, and I did a lot of shopping. We bought a monorail set for my son and nephew and shipped it home. They totally loved the gifts.

My sister-in-law went down for Thanksgiving and purchased the Contemporary to add on to his monorail. What a Christmas.

PS Everything got to my house in perfect condition.

We also did a ton of shopping last year in Nov and had everything shipped straight from the store to our house.. Most everything arrived in perfect condition, and the ornament that didn't, was replaced quickly and with absolutely no hassle!!!

It was GREAT!!!

i would say buy them, then take them a ups store and ship them home

ooohh.... can you tell me about the monorail set?!! Is it like a toy or is it like a collectable? Also how much was it? This would be the best gift for DFIL - big time train lover! TIA for the info! :flower:

We always have our gifts sent have. You save the sales tax and the shipping is very reasonable. It is worth it.
