I am bringing my parents to BCV in December for a few days to check out the holiday decorations the week before you guys arrive.
I'll bet your kids are over the moon! My nephew is 4, and I'm itching for the day my sister lets me take him to Stormalong Bay.
Thanks for the points info. I have some extra cash and am debating on adding on again through DVC or waiting for the next announcement (my use years are February, June, and October). Of course, with the luck I've had lately, the minute I'd have placed the call to my guide, my heater would go...
Congratulations neighbor!!
You just saved yourself some closing costs and a grueling wait through ROFR. Not to mention getting those prior UY points. Boy BCV is really hopping today, I got my add-on as well.
At $92/point, I'm not sure why you would not just go with DVC on the purchase unless it's an inventory availability issue. No ROFR, no closing costs, prorated maint fees and instant access to your points seems like a better deal than TTS. In comparing the two, I have generally found that the TTS purchase price should be at least $4 lower than the DVC price to be competitive...and last time I checked DVC was selling points at $92.
YES...good move going thru Disney..for a pitlins difference of $$ you saved some bucks, credit approval, time, ROFR stress....
..... and got instant gratification!!!!
Why the pirates here brownsoup? You act like I was routing against you or something. Good for you and it goes against the theory that the sky is falling with getting reservations at the smaller resorts. See, those SSR guests aren't booking up all of the BCV rooms! Well, I am at least. Welcome to the club.
I understand the conservative words of caution from folks (heck - even DIS HAPPY was bracing me to possibly be sad) I know I lucked out pretty good! I am very happy about the outcome.
Maybe I should play the lottery (I hesitate to share this next one...)
I was able to exchange my Hyatt VC property in Key West (a portion of my points) and secured a studio at BCV for the same week 12-9/12-16-06 (we had the request in prior to buying our resale ...Interval International)
I could not believe that! Some friends of ours who have kids in the same age range as ours are heading down with us.
We have been able to trade into DVC via II in the past but always had to be super flexable....Arhhhhh! My lucky pirate!
Welcome Home!! I purchased a resale through The Timeshare store in 2004 for the BCV for $200 points. Bought it and passed ROFR at $73/pt. Who says DVC isn't a good investment. I wouldn't doubt that the value will just keep going up. I've been so happy with my first purchase that I've also just bought another resale through The timeshare store. I also am awaiting the ROFR. My first purchase went so smooth with the Timeshare store that I didn't even shop around other sites. Until they prove me wrong, I got nothing but Kudos to sing about them.
