How much is a monthly contract? Does it include Data service?

I know AT&T is offering a discount on the iPhone 5 for people who are still in contact. I assume that if you take them up on it, your iPhone 4s would be unlocked.
I hadn't heard of this. What is the discount? Can you post a link?
I just did a quick peek online at our account for 16/32/64 iPhone 5
The phone on our account that is out of contract quotes
$199/299/399
The line which goes out of contract on March 2013 quotes
$449/$549/$649
No contract prices are
$649/$749/$849
So, if my DH upgrades to the 5 in December, what can we do with his iPhone4? Can we use it without a contract? How can we "unlock" it? Can we just turn it into someone else'e phone?
Okay, found it. The offer was less than Gazelle. Both for my 4 and for a 4S
Even if the phone is still under contract, you can still sell it. It's not really the phone, it's the phone line that has to stay open. I used to switch around phones whenever one line would become available for upgrade.
I purchased my iphone 4 from some one who was changing phones just a few months after getting it (weird story). He was on AT&T, so am I. I just popped in my SIM card and it's worked perfectly from the beginning.
Be careful about unlocking phones, I've heard of some crazy things happen when people mess with it. Just buy a phone that's with the company you plan on going with.
Is the only difference between the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 4s the Siri voice thing?

Thanks for the google link. That tells the basic stuff. But it is from Dec. 2011, so I am wondering if there is any difference between the two (4/4s) in upgrading to the new iPhone 5 software? Anything one won't be able to do that the other would? Any reason to pay more for the 4S if you don't care much about the camera difference and the voice thing? Is the processor difference really worth it?
Thanks,
Maggie
