Melinda

I have a dirt devil vision (bagless)..warning the filter on the inside gets filthy and they do not sell replacements at wal-mart!! I need a new one and can't believe that I can't get it at Wal-Mart!! I do love having a bagless though!

Kenmore canister (4.5hp) all the way, baby!!!

I've had mine for, gee, about 18 years now - and other than the hose having lots of duct tape on it, it still sucks up anything that's not nailed down. (pet hair, etc.)

I'll never change!

Get a Dyson. It is hands down the BEST vacuum that I've ever had. It is a bagless that you can empty without ever touching the dirt. I can vacuum my wood floors without having to sweep them first. It is a European model that has 6 suction chambers and is guaranteed to never lose suction. We got ours at Best Buy for a little over $500. I've seen them advertised in Target. They've come down in price, too, since we bought ours. We have "The Animal" model.

I have had my Kenmore upright for 2-3 years now, and I really love it! Now, believe me, I do not usually recommend Sears products at all... But, when I needed a Vacuum, I test drove them all. It works great, Is completely HEPA air clean. (PS: cheapy vacuums may say this, but especially the Eureka, never saw one that did not huff-and-puff the dust!!!) And it was not as loud as many other vacuums. This is a great vac... I read after I bought it that these top of the line Kenmores were like at the top of the consumer reports lists. I think we payed $188.00 for it, and it has been worth it!

PS: I like the ones with bags better than bagless... Seems that really helps make it HEPA clean. Also, especially if you want to use this on any wood or tile flooring, make sure the vac is truely bare floor cleaning. some only lift the beater bar/brush, but it still spins, blowing and dispersing the dirt and dust just as much as it is vacuuming it. On my Kenmore, the beater bar/brush completely disengages when set on bare-floor.

Hope this helps!

Kenmore Progressive Upright. Usually you can find it on sale for $250. Wonderful vac! Usually rated in the top 2 in CR magazine.

I swear by Hoover uprights. They suck the life out of everything.....and keep going and going. My mom had one, passed it on to me, I gave it back, moved and asked for it back, it got ragged looking so I bought another but it still works great and is on it's 15-20th year. Seriously!

What are you doing right with your panasonic? Mine only lasted 3 years. The Eureka was shorter lived and my Hoover still works but no where near as good as the Dyson. And to think that we bought the dyson because we wanted one for each floor. We're still carrying up and down the steps because no one wants to use the wind tunnel anymore.

We got the Whirlwind Bagless super deluxe model. I think it's a Hoover. It's also bagless. Pretty scary what comes out of your "clean" carpet!!

We have gone through a Hoover Wind Tunnel and a few Kenmore cannister vacs and prefer our Oreck upright hands down to any of them so far.

We have a central vac in the new house, but my DW still swears by her Rainbow. It's kind of pricey, but if you follow the history and theory of it NOTHING works better.

The company that makes them started out in the air purification business, and then transferred the technology to the vacuums. The vacuum has a canister that you fill with water, as it vacuums the water is swirled to a mist and the dirt being vacuumed in passes through the mist and falls into the collection pool...it can't go anywhere else there is no exhaust (you know that vacuum cleaner smell) well that's the dirt from the bag that passes through...a vacuum cleaner bag has holes in it, otherwise it would explode, the dirt particles leave the bag and get exhausted back into the air.

I know a few peopl ewith sever allergies that have one, and they are not nearly as bad since getting it.

BTW we used to have a hoover upright, before the Rainbow.

Just recently swapped our Rainbow (great but a pain to clean) for a Dirt Devil Vision bagless. Hepa filter & priced very well. It came with a dust-buster type mini vac as a bonus along with the usual attachments.

We have a Bissell Cleanview Bagless. It's great, best vaccum we have ever had!!! Easy to empty and easy to get replacements.
