Can I do this?

I am a regular AP holder. Can I go to the park and buy a Frozen Magic Band for a friend who is a Seasonal AP holder (ticket is not currently valid due to the "season") if I have their ticket and/or regular Magic Band with me?

Thanks!

I think you should be able to.

From the Disney Parks blog post:
As with all retail MagicBand purchases, guests must present one of the following for the MagicBand to be linked to at the time of purchase: valid theme park admission, Memory Maker card or another MagicBand.

Yep. Since the seasonal ticket is still valid just not in season you will be fine. If it is not valid due to letting it lapse then there might be an issue.

Ok I was wondering because when you try to make a FP reservation with a seasonal pass that is not expired, but not really valid due to the season, the website says that the person does not have valid admission.

I understand the confusion. The FP+ system will look if the ticket is valid for use that day. So say you buy MNSSHP tickets. You can only book FP+ on a party day and from 4-7 when the party ticket would be valid. However, if you have the hard ticket you can go and buy Magic Bands and link them to the ticket itself since Magic Bands work outside of the FP+ system.

My daughter is a huge frozen fan and LOVES Elsa. If I bought one of these on Ebay unopened in box, could I link it when I book my package or would it have to be linked at Disney?

Did the one you bought say it can be linked? IF they linked it to their ticket they used for admission it can not be linked to another MDE account.

The only way it can be linked is if you bought one that included a unused ticket on it.

If that is the case you can link it to your package through MDE under tickets you just put in the number on the back of the magic band.

Unopened doesn't make a difference. what you need to know is how it was bought.

If the person bought it linked to their AP/Ticket, then it's just a piece of Frozen jewelry.

If it was bought and linked to an unused ticket, then you can link the band to your account.
