Has anyone done it? I see lots that are NIB for about half the price of Michaels or Joanns. Seems like too good of a deal for their not to be a catch.

Any advice or even a seller you dealt with?

Thanks

I just looked on ebay - neither the little bug nor the expression look cheaper to me than you can get at J's Mikes, or ACMoore on sale - the ones on ebay have no carts with them. ACMoore, at least, has them on sale about once a month in a bundle with several carts for less than the ones I saw listed today on ebay. And that's without shipping.

If the price is anywhere near comparable, This old lady would rather buy locally where I have somebody to -er "deal with" if there's an issue with the machine.

Here's my experience, starting with post #8. It was a good deal, but not worth the hassle it took for me to get it. There's mixed reviews about this place, but I think that if you buy from them during one of their "big sales", it's probably going to take much longer than their 1-2 business days they promise.

I think if you shop around and compare prices, you can definitely find great buys on ebay...just have to be careful who you deal with. ;) Good luck! :thumbsup2

I bought my expressions on ebay brand new in box with 1 cart and I paid 179 for it!!!!
The people I got it from were AWESOME and it came very quickly!
Just check out the feedback and make sure they are legit!

Good luck!

I got my Expression 2 summers ago relatively soon after it came out (I think) and paid 300 including shipping. It was still in the shipping box (brown box) with the Cricut box inside it and was in perfect shape. It came from Utah, so my guess is perhaps it was an employee who got one and didn't want it or something, who knows.

I've never had an issue with Provo Craft not covering me when my first mat wasn't sticky like it should be. I haven't called about any issues with the machine though so I can't tell you about how they handle the warranty. I'm probably out of warranty now anyway but I heard they will still sometimes cover problems if you're 1. out of warranty and 2. didn't buy it from a PC retailer.

I guess it all depends on who you buy from and if you want new or used. Best of luck to you!

I bought mine on ebay - got the baby bug for $154 which i'm not too sure how good a price it is compared to your stores but compared to the cost of it here in the UK it seemed a good deal to me! it came in the original brown box with the cricut box inside. it didnt take that long to turn up and that was with international shipping! x

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Now I am leaning towards just waiting until Black Friday.

Any thoughts on what prices have been in other years?

I got one from some one used on e-bay. She said it worked fine. I left feed back postive but then realized it didn't work right. I have no way of knowing if she sold it broken or if it happened in shipping so I got stuck w/ it. I have called provocraft and it's not under warrenty. I can ship it back and pay $50 to get a new one. I just bought a new one and am tyring to figure out what to do w/ this one. :confused3

HI

My local Joann's has the cricut expression on sale starting tomorrow for 299.00. I was going to buy on line but by the time you pay for states taxes, true it is a little bit more at Joann's. However, I want to support my local store and this way I do not have to "wait". Also I am dealing with a person and can inspect the box from the get go.

Do you live near a Joann's? Check out your mailing flyer, or call the store. Perhaps it is a nationwide sale.

Best of luck to you!

Yo can get lots of stuff from Custom Crops. I think it is customcrops.com. I ahve bought tons of cartridges from them and they are less than half of the stores.. All machines come with a cartridge no matter what. This site has the Expression for 279.00 free shipping worth you trying them. These people on ebay have wholesale accounts with Provo Craft that is why it says Utah. They buy wholesale then resell like any business on ebay. Shipping on ebay has gotten way out of hand and I rarely buy anything on there. Pure rip off shipping wise. Check these girls out. They ship that day. I always have my stuff within 3 days. I found them on ebay and have gone directly from my first buy on ebay and have found them the best company for saying and meaning what they do. I do not know them or am affiliated with them. Just love their sales.

I bought my cricut off the creative express website and currently the price of the personal one is $159 and the expression is $279. They also have sales on cartridges and most of the time shipping is free. There are times that the prices go lower too...I bought mine for $135 and it works beautifully.

Good luck!

Thanks again for the suggestions. I will check out all of these sights.

For a beginner Cricut user do you all think the Personal is enough?

It depends on what you want to use it for. I use mine primarily to cut out letters and I find the personal one to suits me just fine. I also didn't want to spend the extra money until I knew how I was going to like it and to see if I was going to use it a couple of months down the road or if it would be another dust collector.

Good luck in your decision and finding a great deal!

If you decide on an expression I suggest checking out Hallmarkscrapbook.com - they are having a good sale on machines and carts.
