Buyers remorse over $$$ spent for GF- Final Decision Update!

We stayed off-site for our 1-yr anniversary and that was a big mistake so to make up for that disastrous choice we went again that same year during the 2nd week of December and stayed at the GF.

[FYI...We had reserved a room that had french doors that separated the bedroom area from the living area (which had a sleeper sofa) and had two TVs (still only one bathroom, though)...in case you want to look into this option instead of two rooms].

It was during that trip that we decided to take a tour of the WL since we'd never been over there. I'm glad that we did. It became our favorite resort.

All of that being said...We did our WOW trip to the GF and really loved it. The decorations were breathtaking and the monorail access was hard to beat.

But, we decided that although the GF is beautiful we'd rather spend our money elsewhere.

But I also understand the desire to take that special trip and go all out--which will be worth it to you if you choose to do it. I really don't think you'll regret staying at the GF one bit. I think you would regret NOT doing it more than doing it. Either way, staying at the GF this time will give you a better idea of what you want to do on subsequent trips.

Another option (for this trip or future ones) is renting points from DVC members and booking a 2bdrm villa. They have them at the WL, BWV, BCV, OKW, SSR. I know that these resorts aren't on the monorail but it would be SO much cheaper and the luxury of staying in the villas (which have full kitchens and washers and dryers) can't be beat...even at the GF. If you're interested, check out the DVC threads on the DIS boards.

Have a great trip...your triplets will love it no matter what!

I lost track of the ages of your triplets but you COULD rent a one bedroom or two bedroom from Disney at the Villas at Wilderness lodge. You would get a full kitchen and two tv's for the money, one bath in the one bedroom...if you can move your kids easily you could put them to bed in the master bedroom and move them to the sleeper sofa when you are ready to go to bed.

Of course you could save even more by renting points from a DVC owner...the problem with that is that it is a very popular time of the year for DVC'ers.

Thank you all so much for your input and advice. You really helped us make our decision. We have decided this is such a special trip for us that we will splurge and stay at the Grand Floridian.

DH and I decided that if something financially happens between now and our trip we can always cancel one room (we currently have 2 booked) and stay together.

Again, thank you so much for all your help and patience during my "crisis"~!
